GTM Stage 1 Super Charger Install--Kentmo
Today starts the installation of the GTM SC that I recently acquired.
Not real sure if GTM will offer to help with support , but a couple knowledgeable members have answered a few of my questions. Nice to have good people here that are willing to offer advice! Thank you... Today I installed the Walbro fuel pump, up and running.. Tear down starts sometime this week/ weekend... Pics when I get to the interesting parts.... BTW... When the smoke clears, I'll have unused Berk HFC's and a Gen III CAI that has less than 500 mi. up for sale .... I purchased these items before I got the lamebrain idea to do an SC upgrade..... :rofl2: |
Just take the install slow and double check stuff, but once it is done & tuned you will love it!

Most of the tear down is completed, so far fairly simple. Need to remove the existing oil cooler then I'm close to the SC installation.
I'll complete the fuel injector install today then start running the cooler lines. After that the SC . |

I know what part you're talking about under the skid plate and that all gets replaced. I just took a dremmel and cut the hard lines so I could get them out more easily

I did remove the "suspension member stay" plate and the engine did not end up on my head. :roflpuke2:
That allowed me to remove the old power steering lines & install the new ones with no trouble. Everything is working out well so far. I'm adding a Mocal inline oil cooler thermostat ,which will connect to the Setrab oil cooler, so I'll need to make up some braided lines. Probably will work on that before the SC install. |

Moving right along.. Sc installed today. Had to drop the front sway bar to make room for the sc., The directions from GTM are very good , but one definitely needs mechanical experience to get through the install. Having the correct tool are ESSENTIAL!!!Attachment 98472

I have the SC, alternator , P S pump & belt installed.
I'm not happy with how the new PS & SC lines are crammed between the alternator & passenger side wall. Very little room and I'm concerned about heat & chaffing of the lines & wires. I think a redesign with solid tubing that runs along the side wall would be more efficient. I may look into trying to do that down the road. In the mean time I'll be wrapping the hose and wiring with a heat shield aluminum tubing to protect those parts. Attachment 98592 Attachment 98593 |
