Had a new pair of Nitto INVO to replace the worn Michelin PSS and got an alignment. Took the chance to snap a pic under the car while it was up on the lift. This shows how I braced the turbos to the tranny with the oem rubber bushings to absorb vibration.

Is there a particular reason you went with Invos? I have been impressed with their wet weather performance mostly. Decent dry performance with good wear in my experience. Cost was a factor, too, as I drive and replace tires much more than most on this forum.

But definitely not what I would be looking at for a boosted application. RE-11s would probably be my first choice for a street tire

first set of RE-11s this past year have me sold on them. so sticky for a street tire with pretty good wet traction unless its a massive storm with standing water. plus they were about $400 less I think than the same sized PSS's which are great as well. never have heard many great things about invo's aside from the price being cheaper.

btw OP nice build. pretty cool seeing someone stuff two snails underneath like that.

Dont get me wrong, the RE-11 is a great tire and I just got a fresh set for the FRONT of my Z.

But my experience with them and turbos, was that they were worthless at full throttle and thats going back to when i was only 528rwhp or whatever when I first boosted several years ago.

boost = drag radial on the rears minimum

That is why I only mentioned the RE-11 for street application. And exactly the reason I questioned the Invo purchase. I would fully expect boost to destroy them anytime you give it power. Hell I can destroy them pretty quick without boost when I want to have some fun, but I do that in a controlled environment and not public roads.

The reason why I chose Invo because I know two z with over 600whp running them and have great traction. They are not the stickiest street tires, but they are definitely grippy. Invos have soft sidewalls which make them horrible for road racing, however I believe thats why they do better at absorbing torque when punching it straight. I know it wont be a fair comparison since my PSS were pretty much worn when I had the turbos on, but there is a godly night and day difference after the Invos installed. Even when I spin the tires, the car would continue to go straight where with the PSS I would be fishtailing. With 65+F weather, my car will hook 2nd completely on the Invos and that is quite impressive. It does well enough on 50 F days to allow traction control to work.

I have seen a lot of guys in the high power Viper scene use INVOs for their street tires. One of these days I need to try them myself.

Interesting...

FWIW, I had the opportunity to drive my Z with Invos at COTA. While the soft sidewall is quite noticeable on the track, I thought they were very predictable with decent feel in the full range of cornering. The same day I drove another Z with the V12s soft sidewalls, and I felt like they did as good as the Invos during mild cornering but suddenly got mushy during heavy cornering with no warning. Terribly unnerving in someone else's car.
