Manifold is updated to allow more turbo options.
|
By options do you mean the 2.0 can utilize the E cover and the 1.5 can not? Or do you mean entirely different turbo's in general?
|
Quote:
For the 6266, yes, but it also allows more big boy turbo options too. |
Has anyone used anything besides the 6266 yet? I think someone used a 6766 right?
|
I know one guy with the 6766. It's a G but not sure if he's got it running yet. I also think Mr Squeeze went with a big turbo option too but not sure which one. Haven't heard from him around here recently.

Commonly asked questions on BQ's V 2.0 turbo list ( NOT OFFICIAL, MISTAKES MAY BE FOUND ON THIS FAQ)
IV 2.0 vs. V 1.5 -Manifold has been upgraded to allow more turbo options. II AT compatible? -BP's V 2.0 turbo is compatible with the 6MT models only. III Will the turbo work on stock clutch/flywheel? -The stock clutch may not be going to stand up to this level of torque. **Upgrade highly recommended by BP's turbo owners getting something rated for 550ft-lbs or better. ( The stock clutch wouldn't handle 450wtq ). -What aftermarket parts users got: A.) Z1 lightweight flywheel and full faced disk. @jwick B.) southbend Zspeed setup @Mitco39 C.) speciality z @JMac88 D.) more to come... IV Will a single 3'' exhaust will be too much restriction on the turbo? -This may vary. It comes down to the amount of boost/tune. A 3"exhaust will make more power than the stock block can handle, larger exhaust would be beneficial. example #1 V Will i dominate any/most car(s) on the road with this kit? -You bet. VIFI long tubes compatible? -No as far as page 7 goes. VII What other upgrades may come in handy? - Clutch/FW/HD CSC - $1500-2000 - Radiator - $600 - Gauges - $500 - Misc Heat Management/Tools/Etc - $1000 - Tune - $600-700 VIII Do the parts ship through fedex, ups, or usps? -Everything except the exa pump ships via US. The pump will go via FedEx. IX Does the t-bolt clamp on the turbo is 2"? -With the E compressor cover the outlet is 2", however the outside diameter of the coupler is about 2.35". X Has anyone installed this kit with Z1 Motorsports CSC Eliminator Kit? -That would not work with the kit XI Anyone have a good estimate on how many ponies the standard fuel pump/set up that come with this kit can handle up to? -The fuel pump and injectors that come with this kit should be good for 600whp+. XII What color are the silicone hoses, couplers, and eels? -Black, you can ask Sasha to look into different colors. XIII Do the charge pipes come powdercoated? -Yes What are the pros and cons of a TT set up vs this one? Quote:
1. Are there any logos on any parts of this turbo set up/ or planning on adding some? -No logos anywhere on the system -Focus is on quality of the product it self. I'm on page 13, I will be crating a PDF/Word document guys.. this is great stuff. I will put my kids to bed now... |
Stillen brake ducting
Does anyone know if the newer (v 1.5 and v 2.0) routing of the intercooler piping would allow me to install the stillen brake ducting kit? They hook up at the fang vents and with my current v 1.0 kit the IC piping on the driver side is directly in the way. Anyone have any head on installation pics of IC piping routing on the newer kits? Considering buying the upgrade from Sasha if this would allow me to run the stillen brake cooling kit.

Quote:
Nope. That portion of the IC piping is identical on the V1.5+ |

The air filters I uses on the V 1 of the kit have unfortunately been discontinued. When I found this out, I bought all the filter that this supplier had in stock, so I have about 20 of them here. I can send replacements to those that have bought the kit. Quote:

Thanks Sasha. Can you tell us what brand the v1 were and what the v2s are?
|
I want 1, maybe 2 air filters, and a filter for the EXA pump. Should I PM you?

The Exa is more a strainer than a filter. It came with my kit. |

Edit, not sure if mine came with one or not. |

Think it was a later addition |
Here you are the comparision between 6266 and 6766, the similar boost pressure, about 1.2-1.3 bar decreasing to 1.1 bar in case of 6266. All the dynos are with the HKS EVC 6 Boost Controller.
The key points from my point of view and experience with both turbos: - 6266 is better for stock engine - 6266 flow isn't sufficient for boost more than 1.3 >> 1.1 bar - you can see that on the picture, torque and HP peak at 6600RPM are decreasing rapidly, it means the turbo is on his maximum efficiency - 6766 - the best option in my opinion, turbo lag isn't the issue here, moreover - in my application the spool is even faster! - 6766 is the better option for the future upgrade - 6766 spools to the very end, we put 1.4 bar currently and the boost is stable to the end https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...80869010_o.jpg |
Hey guys,
I have a few questions I would like to ask the community. I am new to boost, so please remember that when I ask. First thing I would like to ask is does the kit come with a scavenger pump, or do you have to buy one and put it in? I was going to do a self install, and this seems over my level of expertise. Second I wanted to buy the ball bearing turbo with compressor cover and rev it to 7500 rpm, is this even possible? or am I aiming for something that is not obtainable, thanks guys. Mike |
Pump comes with the kit.
I'm confused by your second question. Either turbo option will spool to the 7,500 rpm rev limit. If you can do normal car maintenance and do minor electrical work, you should be able to install the kit. |
Cool thanks for the help, also what did you do for your exhaust, I have the Ark and really like the sound, but as the kit is i would have to use a y pipe. Is it just better to go to a single exit with this kit?
|
The y-pipe gets completely replaced by piping that comes with the kit. I'm not familiar with the Ark exhaust. The kit works with any exhaust that keeps the stock mid-pipe flange connection. If the Ark doesn't fit that category then you might have to have the downpipe custom fabed to mate up.
|
I think the arks work.

Thanks for the feedback on the turbos. What A/R turbine do you have on your built engine? 680WHP and 660ft/tq is the highest of all my 370z customers...and by the looks of it this is pump gas. It is also very close to where my other 350z customers have been maxing out on built engines and pump gas...one managed to hit the 700whp mark with a 6766 T4 1.32 a/r turbine. This was at about 19psi of boost. The 6766 is a very capable turbo. |
Quote:
But it's not on the pump gas, it's on the 100 octane european gas with only 10% of Ethanol. Guys, I highly recommend the BP Kit - if you havn't pull the trigger yet you should definitely check the real street performance on my Z's roll race videos with new BMW M6, Nissan GTR (stock and tuned), new Audi RS6, 2JZ 700HP Supra and more on my 370z FB |

Also, for those looking at these kits, the V 1.5 kits are capable of simmilar numbers as well, as the 6766 turbo does work with that version of the kit. I have 4 of these in stock...just waiting for the IC pipes to arrive, otherwise they are ready to go. |

Is this available for UK cars?

Ark exhaust does not work? Care to elaborate for this is what I have. I did notify the fabricator at the car shop that we may have to do some cut and welding. He told me to shut up and hurry get the kit.

sent you a PM. ready for a new turbo. Only question is cartridge or ball bearing.

Hey Boosted Proformance! I was wondering if you had a single turbo kit for sale?
|
Has anyone used z1 csc elimination kit with the BP turbo kit or the ZSPEED HD csc...

Pretty sure all of us who have upgraded clutches are running either the ZSpeed HD or the Tilton Specialty Z offers. Z1 Elimination doesn't work with this kit. |
