Like others have said what is required will determine on your goals. If your looking sub 600rwhp then pistons and rods is just fine no need for valve work. If your going over 600rwhp I would reccomend getting valve work done. It's as simple as that and remember fuel system upgrades where needed.

Seeing as though I'm currently running at 540whp, I find that hard to believe. I know the common answer is to call and speak to sam, but sam is very busy and doesn't always get around to sending out packages to everyone who asks. (not a bash at sam in any way, Just saying that he has a lot on his plate!) I also only see the vq35 shortblock on the GTM website, so if anyone can shed some light on this, please do! The vq37 shortblock is on the gtm site. This is the route I plan on doing, but I just want to make sure by ordering the shortblock is going to give me the reliability aspect I want pushing 500whp with the stg.2 sc.

Remember There will be more costs involved than just the Block... That is why some of us say Call Sam... I would say fully installed stage 1 Short Block will run you around $8-9k...

And that was my whole point. Everyone just says buy the short block. Guess what gentlemen you need more then just a short block. I told sam I was aiming for 600 rwhp to give me room to grow. Looking at my estimate there was alot more on there then what you guys think. But then again sam said there was multiple ways I could go about it. I want the best, and most reliable way so will buy the extra **** to make it like that

That also depends on the shop installing it too. 8-9k seems a bit high, no?

Sam should be posting today on what else is needed, but 600whp is a lot different than achieving 500whp safely.

He didn't tell me to buy the shortblock, that was my idea cus I don't want to worry about something since it's my daily driver.

IDK man lol. I guess he has a valid point why fix it if it isn't broken. I am just going to up my power to justify the cost of it. Thats why I am going for 600. I think it is kind of fullish to buy a short block and pay all that money to just have the power your car is making now. Unless your just wanting to throw money at the car to make the sentence below your name true
