Default EBC solenoid and controller install?

For those of y'all with electronic boost controllers....just wondering where everyone mounted their solenoids and control units if applicable. I just bought the newer Greddy Profec and trying to figure out where/how to mount the solenoid and control unit.

If you're going to change it often, I would place it in the cubby hole underneath the triple gauge pod. Sacrifices that space, but very easy to reach and change on the fly. If you're going to occasionally change it, you could DIY it into the center console underneath the arm rest. I placed a GFB boost controller in the cubby hole, along with a couple of gauges to fill it up (boost, oil pressure, etc.). For the solenoid, connect it anywhere on the boost line to the wastegate, but use a T-connector (should be supplied with the solenoid). Best to leave the factory line on also, but I don't know if the ECU requires a boost reading. Check out MCM's DIY boost controller (in the second part of the video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OL11Etw7ZSg As for tuning (if you need help) the video is really helpful, but I still recommend using a dyno if possible.

Thanks for the input, but I was trying to see where people were actually mounting the solenoids and engine bay components when installing an EBC. There doesn't seem to be too much space to put anything in our engine bay :P

Does anyone else have the Greddy Profec in their Z?

That was the hardest part of my turbo install imo. Figuring out where to mount and running all of the electrical. I mounted my solenoid on the drivers side firewall. Ill have to take a picture of it for you in a little while.

I have the previous model profec (with the blue lighting, wanted red). The controller/brain is in my glovebox and the engine bay hardware is mounted on the driver's side sharing space with the BMC and such. I will try to get one of the guys at UPREV to get a couple pics for you (dragonbreath should be much faster, but I will still get them for you eventually), but it is in the body shop right now.

I appreciate all the input and pics would be awesome. Once I finally get my stuff installed/working I'll post up pics too to possibly help others in the future. Right now I'm waiting to call Greddy to try and get a replacement adjustable mounting bracket for the OLED display/controller. I bought the kit used off of this forum and unfortunately the stand didn't come with it :P I think I'm going to mount it somewhere either right in front of the tach or top of it....its really small and doesn't obstruct vision.

This is the best picture that I could get. I hope that helps.

That spot worked perfectly for the BP kit as far as vacuum line routing goes.

Ok so I finally got my Greddy Profec OLED/newer version installed and running Here is where I put the controller, solenoid, and display:

Solenoid near battery:

Controller inside brake compartment:

And the sweet display:

Install wasn't too hard but the instructions weren't the greatest...I set up the solenoid for an external wastegate because thats what I have....ended up preventing the wastegate from opening and I boosted up to 15 psi :O.....I had to switch ports and go to what the instructions say is an internal/actuator type set up and that works. I have the SET set at 35 and I'm holding 9-10psi

I built my own bracket for the valve and mounted the controller under the dash with some Velcro. Given I have the older version but the solenoid is the same.

See page 6 in my build thread
