I have several supporting parts! I have a pretty unique build going on and will be excited to post most of it up here once more work as been done. At this point in time its just a pile of fancy parts. I have some cool parts to machine and fabricate over the next couple months to tie it all together. Right now we are focusing just on the intake manifold as I have a lot of people asking for one and I also may or may not have to invest a lot of cash into it if we decide to cast more of it rather than billet or fabricated. |

I'm no expert but I've seen a couple of TTs near the 700, I think one was 681hp when the rods decided to bend. Personally I think anything close to 7 is plenty of hp. But I guess when we have that kind of power for a while we always look for more. Last edited by 2SOONJR; 03-30-2015 at 10:45 PM. |

For the UpRev system, the only car I have ever tuned is this one.
Before that, I have some EMS tuning experience, although it has never been a passion of mine. I generally try to avoid getting sucked into tuning on my friends cars. I owned a Dynojet chassis dyno for several years, and I would often tune piggybacks for people, but thats hardly tuning, and I wasnt doing any reflash stuff or anything. The first standalone I ever tuned was the HKS FCON V-Pro when I did the first US install of one in my 350z to test the PnP harness for HKS USA... but that system was amazing to tune and I had the stock engine record on that 350z in 6-7 pulls. I ran that system for the duration of ownership of that car. So my EMS tuning experience and research is probably a lot further than the average enthusiast that does not tune or study it, but compared to professional EMS tuners, or even enthusiasts that spend a lot of time studying the topic, I am worthless. |

That's still pretty awesome. How was the user interface for the uprev? Was it user friendly at all or would you recommend someone taking a class on it or at least taking a good amount of time to understand the fundamentals?

Uhm... I like it but its a little confusing on some things. I believe that has to do with the Nissan software itself being somewhat confusing and possibly not entirely understood.
Its a unique tuning experience and other than being familiar with target A/F and timing figures, its not really much like tuning other software I have tuned. I would recommend tuning your car with it NA before boosting. By starting with a boosted car on 1000cc injectors, I struggled at first to get the car running well as my first UpRev attempt. |

Thanks for those words of wisdom. I think I will try it NA first. I have read things about the VVEL being adjusted to unleash "hidden horses" that are covered up by Nissan intentionally, is there a way to adjust that timing as well? I also read it can completely destroy the engine if not done properly or even if its tampered with at all.

Ive pretty much ignored the VVEL system as I could not have asked my car to run more efficiently than it already was.
If there is a version of the UpRev software that includes the ability to make VVEL system adjustments, it not the version they gave me. I suspect there was some torque to gain in my setup by playing with the midrange timing and VVEL, but I didnt want any more torque or spool up anyway - all that would do is spin the tires more or bend a rod. |

Yeah I'm sure there is some software out there for the VVEL but seems like its not worth the hassle. Sounds like the cons outweigh the pros on that.

If swapping engines is something you can do in your back yard. Purchasing a stock block from a tow yard every few years maybe the way to go lol. GTX35's on stock block at 12 psi is crazy power.
CJM fuel return and 12 psi tune on 93 octane maybe my fix for a car I drive 4 times a month. |
