Actual reviews/results on Stillen SC
Hi Guys,
I'm considering having a Stillen Supercharger put on the 370Z here. I know the website says the car makes 500hp with this addition, but I'm curious what people have actually dyno'd, actual 1/4 mile time slips and actual reveiws on the performance. Streetability handling etc. Its basically between Supercharging my 370Z or going over to an LS3 C6 and going Intake/headers,Exhaust/Cam. |

I haven't done the 1/4 with my car but it's a blast on the street. |
This forums has a final results thread I believe for finished numbers. Might wanna look in that thread. Stillen kits make around 400 give or take. A LS3 with those mods will be way faster than a SC Z.

Check the finished builds thread. I ended up putting down 400, I haven't been boosted long but I love it! I haven't tracked her yet. I get awesome gas mileage. I haven't found anything negative.

Stillen's current kit is rated at 500HP at the crank and most generally see 390-410whp depending on dyno, tune, and location. |
Like everyone else has said 400 WHP or so I made 412 and chased 500 WHP and motor quit at 457 WHP. If I had that choice sorry to say but I'd be getting the LS3 just me but long long term more reliable . No one has had their SC for years or up wards of 40k to start low .
The LS3 is factory ready to be fast out VQ is not yes you can make 400 WHP on the Stillen sc hell you can even make 600+ WHP on a twin Tubro set up but for how long and how many miles no one really knows yet. I love my G and the VQ just not good for BIG power |
I hope your wrong about the 40k thing, I have 16k on mine in just under a year!

Please for the love of god listen to what I'm about to tell you. If you think you will be content for a LONG time with low four hundred numbers then by all means the stillen kit is awesome. I have the stillen kit with every other performance mod stillen makes including the 9lb pulley and a custom tune and I'm making 440 at the wheel which was really cool for like a month! Now I crave .... No I must have more power! So take it from me if you think you are the trype to be content then plan on just that from the stillen set up... Contentment. If you crave big power.... Swap it! That way when your bolt ons no longer make your nipples hard you can boost the mother******

Thanks guys. I've never owned anything that made more than 400whp but I think that would be plenty for me. At the same time I know the ls3 has better potential to go 500+hp.

Two words: TWIN TURBO. 630hp on E85. /end thread

Depends on how much fun factor your after. 400 will be fun. 500+ with a turbo will be much, much more fun.

I've come to the conclusion that if you just want a little more punch and all you do is drive your car around town then a SC isn't a bad way to go. It is cheap and relatively easy. 400-ish hp is fun when your options for said fun are limited. For example: If I got an AWD G37 for winter driving I would want a SC in it for days that there was no snow. But if you have plans on tracking your car (track/autocross/drag) at -all- then there really is no better option than turbos. With a SC you'll be a fast V6. With twins you turn the heads of V8s, even V8s with SCs. V8 SC power in a V6 chassis...hell yeah. Good luck! |
I can also vouch. Had a 350 with stillen roots blower. Fun for a year. Added a turbo to forcefeed the roots. Fun for a year. Bought a 370. Fun for a month. Put a twin scroll turbo on. Fun as hell!!! Got hungry. Built motor on way. Going back to 400whp.....impossible.
