OP, you need to really be honest with yourself as far as how you will be using the car, and what your HP experience has been. I've owned several 600hp+ cars in the last decade (Z06's and a Viper), and I can tell you from experience that you really can't enjoy that kind of power on the street. Yea, you can blast from stoplight to stoplight all day, but that gets old (and draws a lot of unwanted attention). Are you going to track it, autocross it, race it?

After selling my last Vette and buying the Z, I can truly say that I can fully enjoy the power this car has, and still avoid most tickets. I'm tempted to go the S/C or turbo route, but know from experience that I will never get my money's worth out of it.

Do what makes you happy, but make an informed decision.

I had a Stillen SC on my 08 350Z. It's the same kit. Knocked 1 sec off of my 1/4 mile time by adding the SC and better tires. I knocked off another 0.3 sec by doing a pulley swap and upping the boost from 8-9 psi to 13 psi.

13.8 sec stock with street tires.
12.8 sec Stillen (8-9 psi) with better street tires.
12.5 sec Stillen, pulley swap (13 psi), and better street tires.

I know my times are not fast. But at least you can see the gains. I'm not very experienced at the track.

Good to know it knocked a full second off. I'm pretty sure I can pull off a low 13 with my car the way it is, so a low 12 or 12 flat supercharged would be perfect!

when i had the stillen supercharger i was trapping 116-117 in the 1/4mile
my 60ft was trash but the trap was almost constant

Please for the love of god listen to what I'm about to tell you. If you think you will be content for a LONG time with low four hundred numbers then by all means the stillen kit is awesome. I have the stillen kit with every other performance mod stillen makes including the 9lb pulley and a custom tune and I'm making 440 at the wheel which was really cool for like a month! Now I crave .... No I must have more power! So take it from me if you think you are the trype to be content then plan on just that from the stillen set up... Contentment. If you crave big power.... Swap it! That way when your bolt ons no longer make your nipples hard you can boost the mother******

This is the sole reason I ended up going with Twins. I was about to pull the trigger on an SC but knew I would not be content with low to mid 400s.

If your main purpose is to hit the dragstip then the C6 is a much better platform.

My car will probably never see the track but with the Stillen SC it sure is a blast to drive around town :) I don't care for 1/4 mile times or high HP numbers, just wanted bit more enjoyment for my daily. TT on a daily would probably get me in trouble lol. I am pretty satisfied with my setup, I sure love the look/sound and performance of TT's though. Props to those who got them...One day ;)

I did! Wasn't sure how many people got the reference.

*Edit: I put it back...It's been bugging me since I changed it! I'm a dork. ...NO LIKES because I'm a dork! NO!

Is there lag with the Stillen SC? One reason I bought the Z was to get the NA feel, tired of the lag from turbos, especially on curvy roads. I would like to maintain that NA power delivery feel, if possible.

JWillis72 09-17-2014 02:34 PM

No lag like a turbo has but it feels a little different than NA because from 4500rpm and up the power kicks in more.

ANMVQ 09-17-2014 03:24 PM

Drives like NA till about then maybe a little earlier like 3800 or so then .... . :driving::tup:

And if you do the impeller upgrade its more like 3k mine was way down there :tiphat:

Hammtastic 09-18-2014 09:11 AM

Does it feel the same as lag though?
