Is it ok to cleaning engine bay w/ turbo

I have the BP kit and was wondering if it is alright to soap up the engine bay and hose it down. Would the turbo be ok if the filter has water on it? Any suggestions on how to clean the engine bay with the filter sitting under the headers?

you can clean it just be careful with the water and cover important stuff( Electronics) with a plastic bag and dont spray water directly on it.

I would just use a wet rag to wipe it down, have a water bucket nearby to rinse and repeat.

I just pay a guy to clean it with a rag for me.

I have washed my several times (twin scroll kit), no issues. Just don't hose down the alternator and or have a lot of water pressure on the electrical connectors.

I wish someone that knew what they were doing would post a DIY showing exactly what needs covering. Thanks for answering this but people that ask this question clearly don't know what is important and what is not...like me.

Soaping up the engine indicates to me that it has been neglected from the get go. All I do Is every time I wash my car I just wipe it down with a damp cloth. That’s it and it looks brand spanking new.

I have less than 4000 miles on my car. Not sure if it was really neglected or not and not sure if I really want to neglect it with the car being modified. This is why I came here asking what to do and how to do it.

Instead of wasting a post, you could of at least suggested that in the first place.

Plus, if you youtube videos on cleaning engine bays you can see others soap up there engines and hose it down even when the engine isn't that dirty.

I guess these videos are wrong base on some reactions here.

My pops has always done it pretty much like in the videos. I'm chicken so I just wipe it all down with a damp cloth till clean.

Lol at the videos. What ever floats your boat but I would never hose down my motor. That's just me.
