Anyone take their boosted Z it a Nissan dealer?

We will see but it still seems odd to me that it's a sensor in the dash. I guess it check to see how bright it is for the auto

While you are waiting for the new sensor... I would try unplugging the battery for ten minutes. Can't hurt to try.

Ya you know I found it rather strange that the AC system is disabled without the ambient sensor too. Seems rather goofy to not have the system default to allow you to at least activate the compressor even if the climate control accuracy is gone. I dont even pay attention to that crap anyway, I just go for "more hot" or "more cold" and dont pay attention to temp settings.

I have been told by Nissan, the A/c shop and Pep Boys that if he doesn't get a reading from all the sensors it will not work, If so that was a stupid idea.

Just a wild guess but it really sounds like the air conditioning was turned on when there was no refrigerant in system causing the system to throw a low pressure fault through a pressure sensor. When this happens the system will not run the compressor until the fault is cleared out(If Nissan uses the same system as I'm used to with Mercedes).

I'd guess disconnecting your battery will likely bring it back to normal.

that was part of my problem. Also my tuner gave me a manual relearn process that set my idle waaaay too low so when I finally turned my ac on the car didn't have enough power to run the belt so it bogged down and frayed the serpentine belt. It was a nightmare because all anyone could do was guess or point fingers

Off topic a bit but having your idle too low didn't cause issues with your serpentine belt, they are in no way related. Someone installing it a tooth/groove or more off and having it ride off centered rubbing against something caused your belt issues.
