Stillen Guys HELP!! AF and injectors at their limit?
I am sure this question has been asked before, but I need to know if anyone has experienced the same issues that I am having. I have a 2014 Nismo and installed the Stillen SC kit with a 9psi pulley and test pipes. Got it on the dyno yesterday to perform the UPREV tune and was informed by my guy that my MAF's maxed out at 4800 RPM and that my 600cc injectors were at 93 %.
The question is: Is there anything I can do other than replace the MAF's and injectors? I saw mention in a thread about the Stillen intake being an issue, but of course cannot find the thread. If the MAF's are maxing out due to a design flaw that I can fix, then I will fix it. But if the issue is just replacing parts, then I will go that route. HELP PLEASE, Thanks |

I remember that when GTM was tuning one of their first tt kit, they have noticed that the oem maf was maxed out when they tried to make over 650bhp (if i remember correctly) the 600cc injectors where also maxed out, they had to go with an aftermarket maf and about 850-1000cc injectors after that they where able to reach about 826whp n 826lb of torque.

Unless the Stillen kit has changed since the pictures I have seen, they are using a pre-compressor MAF layout. While this is more like how OEMs usually do it, this is going to max out the MAF sensors much earlier than the way everyone else aftermarket is doing it on these cars.
I would attempt to relocate the MAFs to the charge pipe between the SC and throttles. To do this, you would have to build a new pipe from the SC to the throttles. A Y pipe similar to the one it already has, except the individual legs need to extend much closer to the blower to give you adequate space for a MAF sensor for each throttle body. I would personally try and get the MAFs at least 12" from the throttles and 12" from the Y split to hopefully achieve a clean airflow reading. Note that relocating the MAFs like this would require an immediate re-tune as the post-compressor MAF readings would be too low and cause you to go lean in boost with your existing tune. For comparison, my twin turbo setup uses 2.75" tubes for each stock MAF sensor. With this configuration and my current MAF voltages, I believe I would have the sensors topped out by 625rwhp. A SC car willl make less to the wheels due to parasitic drag of the SC. So depending on your power goals, you might STILL need upgraded sensors or larger MAF tubes. I think that some of the TT kits use 3" but havent paid attention to that. |

Ohh man if we rule out parasitic effect on the engine could he be hitting over 600bhp? And no forged internals = blown engine?

I really not sure how that's even posiable with your set up? With the 9PSI pully you shouldn't see any inssues , especial with TPs you losing boost pressure should your only seeing maybe 7psi? In my old set up before I changed anything I was seeing 9 PSI (8 PSI Pulley) and made. 412 WHP on the Stillen injectors an stock MAFS. I change them in my chase for 500WHP. The Stillen injectors and stock MAF's will and should be good till you get near 450's WHP . And thee any leaks in the system ? We need more info?

No leaks in the system. 388 wheel hp on a mustang dyno in 100 temps. What DOOMMONKEY said may be true. My tuner says that with 600cc injectors functioning at 93% capacity I would be at about 558 hp at the crank.

Why did you install test pipes with the Stillen Supercharger? Stillen says you will drop 20 WHP with them so you could have kept your cats and used the 8lb pulley and probably got the same WHP. I know mustang dynos don't read the same as a dynojet but your numbers look low to me considering you did the 9lb pulley. My car was on the dyno yesterday and did 418whp on the 8lb pulley and stock cats.

I did have the cats on originally and the car only did 356 at the wheels with the cats and the 8 psi pulley. With the tune Stillen sent me the car did 298 (a story for another time).

Mine @ 412 WHP = to about 502 Wheel Horsepower to Crankshaft Horsepower Guestimator If your at 388 you less than that. 452hp at the crank

Also 388 WHP in 100 deg temps isn't that bad, plus you WILL loss WHP with TP's others on here have posted that. An I see your in Texas, PLEASE lose the Stillen Heat exchanger and get the Frozenboost one, Id bet you'll pick WHP with just that, That's also documented on here also.

The Stillen tune sucked on my car also. Maybe I'm wrong and the mustangs just read way lower because all of you numbers look way low. I have never been around or seen a mustang dyno.
