7.5k to 8k RMP? My shift point is 7.1k and that's the climax tq spot for my powerband.

After reviewing the video at a 40mph pull. Your turbos probably have longer lag response. Know for a fact 8 psi GTM stage 2 stock block setup you will kick sideways and have to peddle it out. That's my guess being that your top end is more aggressive.

Thanks for sharing. Comparing my car to yours is Apples and oranges.

also the second pul in that video was a 3rd gear pull...

Of course people can hook up after a burnout. We were disputing whether a ~500whp Z could hook up in second. You swore up and down that you could, and then after all the debate you mention that unless you do a burnout you can't hook up second either. That's either being deliberately disingenuous, or you didn't grasp what the rest of us were discussing.

BBRSpeedWorks 11-05-2014 05:32 PM

i mean how do you warm up your tires???

BBRSpeedWorks 11-05-2014 05:36 PM

i mean if people are just starting the car and doing pulls of course it's not going to hook...it's 500whp car... i guess i'm wrong for talking then....i said a 100 times i warm my tires there is a 1k different ways to do....i re word my statements....IF you do a rollin burnout and warm your tires up they will stick...sorry...

1slow370 11-05-2014 05:41 PM

so its a case of " i punch it in second and my tires self warm until they are ready to grip awesome then i shift to third" ok yeah thats pretty much what i get too.

That's what everybody gets. I mean, we're not all so cool as to post vids of us racing people on the street, but the rest of it is pretty much the standard. I thought homie was doing something special and was getting second to hook without burning off 2k miles worth of rubber on the tires.

no more like " i punch it in second burn out then let off and go have fun cuz my tires hook"

i have no reason to lie...i show you a video and still get called liar..i mean what do want me to say i'm sorry you dont get grip...idk sorry i'll shut up...lol...

1slow370 11-05-2014 05:48 PM

I can't wait to get some real rubber back there so i can hook 2nd gear flat out from 3000 up, got just about everything except real tires at this point then its back to the strip!

i'm not trying to be "cool" just trying to show it works...

That video showed something, all right.

that cobalt drivers have sweet handlebars and shoot dimly lit videos from rear third quarter perspective?

At least he wasn't rollin on stretched 20's at 170mph on shittty public roads so I do give him props for that.

Edit: and just for some perspective I live in cali most of the modded cars on the road here are running stretched low pro's and I laugh my asz off everytime i drive past one on the highway after a blow-out with a FUCKEDUP rim and his tread lying 100yards in front of the car.

It was also done on 26" Mickey Thompson bias ply slicks if I recall correctly?

Hey it's ok. Now we know you we're comparing a single turbo that spools at 4k v.s. Us twins that spool at 3.2k rmp. Should have caught it when you said 8k rmp shift point.

Car looks clean and the video was well put together. Takes balls to hit 170mph on open road(personally 120mhp in 5th is my shut down point)

None the less we we're on two different aspects of FI. Just take in mind you're hitting 300wtq at 4k rmps and twins usually hit 400+wtq at 4k rmps. Big different, but when my smaller turbos peak at 6.6kish yours is just beginning to open up.(example)

Thanks again for your input.

Anytime...I'm not trying to offend anyone. You can hit 8 psi at 2.2k dam I was thinking more around 3k...but any way yes its a different world. 2nd gear 40 is around 4k I think which is prime starting point for my car tires hold just fine and that's all I was trying to say...
