GTM stage 2 burning oil.

hello guys,
I have the GTM Stage 2 TT kit on my car. It ran good for not even a week and then it started smoking. I then figured that it was burning oil. correct me if I'm wrong but it makes me think it's a head gasket? now during all this I realized my hks ev6 boost controller would not read any positive pressure because I had a vacuum line pop off. my question is, could the engine have seen a higher pressure due to the boost controller not reading the correct pressure and trying to raise it? I am running 500whp at 12 psi with a GTM canned tune. I am not a master mechanic so i might be thinking in the wrong direction.
thanks

What vacuum line popped off? Also are you not running a boost gauge to tell you how much boost you are seeing?

I'm out of town so i can't trace the vacuum line. It was a T on top left of the engine just behind the strut brace. I was using the boost controller as a boost guage for a couple months since I had to pay 3000 more than invoiced in labor since GTM's kit seemed like it was made for a diesel truck and not a 370z. 9 weeks in the shop 5 days of play.

The T is up there

Could be, where did you have it installed? Might be a kinked turbo drain line also if it were a head gasket or rings you would have some serious blow by coming out the pcvs and oil cap. If it is just smoking for no real reason could be a drain issue

Depending on exactly how its all hooked up, and what became disconnected, there could be some serious damage.

Example... if your kit uses internal wastegates (or has external gates plumbed actuator style) and the MAP sensor port on the EVC solenoid is not hooked up (not seeing boost or vacuum readings on the display), than the boost will be unregulated and it will go as high as it can go until the exhaust manifold pressure pushes the actuator doors open. This, of course, would cause serious damage rather quickly.

It is running internal wastegates. It started smoking when I started it up to go home from work. It would idle rough but seemed to still make power even though it was smoking. When I pulled the dipstick while it was running it would have a little bit of smoking puffing out. Induction performance in Tampa installed it. I'm thinking if it's the gasket then it's time for a motor build. Probably do the stage 2 short block build through Z1. I expected it to hold up longer than this!

Sorry I just couldn't help thinking of this when you said that.

the smoking dipstick would seem to indicate some ring wear, your more likely to get a boosted crankcase on this engine from bad rings than bad gaskets, if it was a gasket you would be getting an overflowing coolant tank, and then some milky oil if it got really bad. either way it very well may need a rebuild.
