Well you guys were right, the one they sent doesn't have a trans cooler in it. We installed it anyway so it's time for a larger trans cooler!

Anyone no how big the cooler was in the stock radiator? If it's little I don't want to get carried away on a new one since it already has a Stillen 19 row cooler on it.

A whole 7 rows.
The thing is that you don't need more cooling, it's more that you don't shock the trans by putting 'cold' fluid back in. So the one in the radiator actually is more a stabilizer

In south Florida do you think that's a big deal? I'm always easy on the car when it's cold. The car will never see snow or freezing temps.

Anyone know of an OBDII app that shows trans temps?

wstar 08-25-2014 08:42 PM

We've been looking for TCM trans temp data since 2009, I don't think it's possible at this point. The TCM knows the data, and uses it to e.g. engage trans limp mode if necessary out around 280-300F IIRC. The dealership can read it with Consult-III, and it's a requirement to do the fluid swap correctly by the service manual procedure (but I've done fine estimating with an IR thermo on the overflowing fluid). But it's just not available via any known OBD-II codes.

What I have in the works (but I still haven't dropped my trans pan to drill and install) is an aftermarket temp sensor into the side of the lower pan.

Thanks wstar, I may have to do the same since I would really like to have it.

So I the CSF triple pass isn't made for Automatic?

EDIT:
Stillen cleared this up for me. They said I could still use the CSF Triple pass (Manual) rad on my Automatic Z if I run a seperate trans cooler like a 25 row setrab.

Does anyone know anything about the AC condenser wire plug in? I installed my csf triple pass but there's no port to plug in the AC wire.

James10694 09-25-2018 08:03 PM

Here's the stock port

Here's the bottom of the csf condenser where the port should be.

Apparently the port for the plug comes out of the stock condenser. Has anyone done this install themselves and can help me out?

Nobody?

Spooler 09-28-2018 09:51 AM

They always leak so nobody buys them.

So everyone's going with mishimoto?
