2011 with 38k miles on that engine
7psi 429
11psi 546

overboosted to 15.3 psi
had a tick after that. drove it home.
My guess is snapped a ringland, maybe bend a valve

Fast as **** though, and smoked the c7 z06.

Got some sort of mod list? Basics like FI kit, Injectors, Fuel Lines, Fuel Pump, Engine stock?

May I suggest including links to the original build thread and ending results.

Great idea to consolidate all information in one place like the exhaust thread.

Just posting it up to skew the statistics, I bet for every blown motor from boost there is another one that nissan just F'd up. Just saying its a good idea for a thread, nice to get it out there just that we need to take it with a grain of salt. I'm the only reply too so problems lol?

2 pages already and not a single reply from a person that blew there motor.

Well here's mine from when I had a Stillen Supercharger kit on my car

3900 Miles on the car 2010
465 WHP
360tq

11 PSI car ran fine tell one day I was racing and it started smoking it continued to get worse over the course of 2 weeks. Once I got the motor out and took it to my machinist after it was torn down it was confirmed cylinder number 2 piston ring let go.

I doubt it I am not the only Stillen kit that let go I know of 4 motors that had the same issue when pushing the kit hard.

No blowing a second ring sounds like the boost was getting trapped in the rings which leads to fluttering and cracking ring lands, that or that wasn't an issue and the shiz just let go, who knows?

In my honest opinion I think my motor let go from being pushed to hard on a kit that wasn't designed to be pushed. I think the car ran hot , one major design flaw in the kit is MAF location. The stock MAF's have to be relocated with this kit to the front bumper and uprev uses IAT's for ignition timing. Also the heat exchanger is very small I really don't think it cools enough. Like I said before I know a few that blew one of them is on this forum name is Nissan370. He was pushing his Stillen kit hard as well and it now he has a built motor like my self.

Custom tune I was the first to switch to cog pulleys and upgrade the impeller in the supercharger.

Just picked up the Z with Stillen upgraded impeller and 9PSI pulley. Added a temperature sensor just before the Stillen manifold. I'm seeing about a 20-25 degree difference from the IAT MAF sensor to the manifold. I.e. 100 degrees at the MAF sensor and 125 degrees just before it enters the Stillen manifold.

Should have really tapped into the Stillen manifold right before it enters the engine since there is a cooling core within the manifold that should bring the temps back down, just don't know by how much and if its close to the MAF readings. That is the next step.

Mr.Squeeze, what AFR and Octane were you running?

EDIT: Just looked at AIT = 95 degrees and temperature just before entering manifold cooler was at 145 degrees. Ambient temp was about 75 only. Holy crap, can't wait for summer time. ughhh Again, I wonder what temp it is after the manifold cooler.hmmm My mechanic/tuner/z guru is wondering that too.hahahah
