I feel like we post this over and over....DON'T buy Mishimoto crap. MY tuner has a pile of their failed products over in a corner.
I have a complete monitoring system of gauges. I swapped to the 2008 G37 thermostat Chuck refered to and it works great. It was over 90's in the shop last week during my tune and we never saw coolant temperatures over 200defF. I highly recommend the radiator upgrade. I'm running the CSF and it works great. Your oil cooler is too small for Houston weather. I'm running a 30 row oil cooler and have an additional grill since I own a G. Driving around this weekend with temperatures in the high 80's/low 90's it's nothing for you to have 220deg oil temps while boosting. Now you're might be lower since I believe the Stillen SC is a self contained oiling system but it'll still get pretty high. Chuck hit is on the head...Go overboard with heat management! |

I got the Mishi part....on the first message
I AM doing the radiator I AM doing the condenser I WILL be looking for another Thermostat Injectors will be at the top end of the spectrum. Checking Frozenboost, or other coolers as we speak. These forums are designed to get input from multiple sources, especially to AVOID issues like with Mishi...and the cooling...thanks for that, and if it seems redundant..welll...I like to hear different peoples opinions and experiences/input... I am sure somewhere in the future, I too, will pass on this info from my experiences... Quote:

Wasn't an attack. It's just how adamant we feel about their products.
We are all here to happily assist with your build. I've learned a great deal within this community and know you will as well. You'll find there are a good number of boosted VQs in the Houston area and all more than willing to assist. Quote:

I appreciate it VERY much, and I am not too proud to ask for advice, maybe even the same question to numerous people.
Mishi has been discarded from my books... I wouldn't have known without everyone's input. One of the people I order from sells quite a few Mishi products... Makes me leery of them now...But no probs, as I wont purchase them... Thanks Quote:

Who is a good vendor for the CSF radiator locally? is it vehicle specific or any particular model?

I made 422HP/318 TQ on a Mustang dyno at 9PSI. My oem CSC failed after 3K miles but has been fine since then and i'm currently at 15K but I will be swapping the OEM clutch/flywheel/CSC asap, just will wait until the OEM starts showing signs of it going out.
The new MAF connections were also installed and made things very easy vs previous kits which required the wires to be spliced. Simply plug and play! |

The thermostat chuck has recommended is very good, I have used it also and it helps a little but is not a huge game changer. With Texas heat you have to look at the cooling and venting with how hot our summers are. So need adequate cooling measure like CSF radiator and oil cooler, but also need to get the heat out of the engine bay. Another suggestion might be to thermally coat the piping to keep heat out of the piping.

A friend of mine had his ceramic coated...yet another item I need to consider...
I'm assuming CSF is the top choice for radiators? A lot of references to them. Other than Chucks good thermostat option, what are other recommended (Good) choices? Quote:

There are no other thermostats. For radiators there's CSF, GTM or Mishimoto. So, there's really just CSF. This platform doesn't have a huge aftermarket.

So if I roll with the CSF radiator, and larger oil cooler, and maybe a pan....will the stock Thermo be ok, or still do the G37?
(Somehow I bet you say do the G37...LMAO) |
