Any updated vids with the dual port at idle and running thru the gears?

^My tuner was not able to run a 50/50 vent to atmosphere with the Stillen SC and Turbosmart Kompact dual port. The venting created issues with the tune and driveability. It's set to fully re-circulate. No pshhhhhh sounds. Car runs great though.

EVOHUNTER, did you need to get your ECU re-tuned or did you just tinker with the knob on the top of the BPV until it was venting and idle was OK.

Doesn't the BPV suck in unfiltered air as well?

However, this is only if the BOV isn't properly setup.

With that being said, the great thing about the Turbosmart BOV is that it's a dual port. So if you're just cruising through the parking lot it's actually still recirculating. It only vents to atmosphere when there is sufficient pressure to open the valve further so that it reaches the next level.

For us guys still on full re-circ, any tips for how to set venting to atmosphere and re-circulation? Do you just go half way on the top of the bpv, rev the motor, and repeat until it idles OK, AFR are stable and no stalling?

At what RPM should the BPV vent to atmosphere?

At what PSI should the bpv vent to atmosphere? Should we

Just a thought, could you not run a twin piston dump valve? That would stop the idle/stall issues and vent to atmosphere. Something like a r-spec type B or an HKS SSQV.

I had mine installed the same time I did a handful of other things so I was getting retuned anyways, But I would think I same adjustment would be needed since this is pre-MAF location.

Did you check to make sure the air horn and bypass nipple were on the right sides of the valve? they could have sent it with them switched. the lower port should be the recirc and the upper port should be the vent. after that you may have to set the spring tension on the cap.

I did not check it out yet. My tuner installed everything for me. No garage and time to do the work.

Is it correctly setup from the posted at the top of the page? I can check the BPV and see if it matches. Didn't know that the BPV could be installed incorrectly or put together incorrectly by Turbosmart.

Hey I just vented mine out sounds awesome! I also have the same afr numbers. But I wonder if I'm loosing boost this way?

I wonder how it will affect the car during WOT runs, between quick shifts when the BPV opens and shuts. Hope it doesn't hurt the engine.

How is it set? Halfway?

I tightn it all the way then I back it out a half. At about 7k rpm my afr was at 10.9. But I did notice at high boost and around 7500 rpm you could hear it. So how can that not be loosing boost? That's my question? If it's venting when your stepping on it then that would mean that your loosing right? Anybody chime in if you can! Guess I'm confused.

If you hear the air escaping from the BPV while you are on the throttle then it is definitely losing boost. It's only suppose to release pressure when you left off the gas and there is a backup of pressure.

Yea for sure, I wasn't losing any with mine, 11 PSI right away and 12PSI upper RPMS.

FYI.

I fitted a Spec R Type B twin piston blow off valve which is a straight swap for the Stillen supplied one. Works perfect, perfect idle and sounds great.

a supercharger bypass vavle is usually open at idle and low load conditions as well when pressure in the manifold is a set amount lower than pressure in the pipe. so if you give it a fair amount of throttle the valve will shut and build boost until you you close the throttle and the pressure difference between the pipe and the manifold rises. By changing the spring or turning the cap you adjust at what pressure difference this happens at.
