I vented mine too, runs actually better now at idle, The weakest setting it would idle at 12.1-12.8, I set it in the middle. Runs really good. My car would go from 13.9 -14.8, kinda jump around, now it doesn't stray from 14.4 -14.8. It sounds really good under high load. Im happy with it! When the setting was to stiff, it would almost shutter the bypass valve, and almost surge back towards the blower, I could clearly hear it. I loosened mine up and that went away.

The BOV will make the car run rich on decel. As you mention, because we use a draw through setup the car's ECU has measured and is therefore expecting the air to be entering the engine. However, as the air is not there it will run rich.

With that being said, we've been running blow off valves on draw through MAF vehicles for over 20 years. I've only seen it cause an issue when the BOV isn't set correctly and is overly sensitive and if you're cruising slowly through a parking lot or something. It could open and cause the car to stumble and possibly stall...again this only occurs at low speed. But we've been running these dual pass BOV's on our GT R builds and as Diego pointed out, our Z currently has this BOV on it as we continue with some more testing.

Also, just to clarify, the shields in Diego's kit have been in all of the G kits since we began production. The Z uses a different shield but it too has been in there since we began production. These shields protect the intake/filters but also help to clean-up the air flow before the air enters the intake path.

Ahh i gotcha that makes sense. Kyle can that be tuned to where on decel the ecu can know that theres less air than it thinks? I would imagine if it could stall in a parking lot it could stall in traffic too

I re-read my post and realized it wasn't very clear. Sorry for the confusion. What I should have said is that if the BOV isn't setup correctly, and you are traveling at low speed such as in a parking lot you might experience a stalling or stumbling. However, this is only if the BOV isn't properly setup.

With that being said, the great thing about the Turbosmart BOV is that it's a dual port. So if you're just cruising through the parking lot it's actually still recirculating. It only vents to atmosphere when there is sufficient pressure to open the valve further so that it reaches the next level.

There are a couple of answers to this question.

1) We have not experienced any issues with the Bosch units holding pressure. Keep in mind that this is still a relatively low pressure system compared to other O.E. applications running the same Bosch unit at higher pressures.

2) Our standard kit no longer uses the Bosch by-pass valve as we purchase these from Vortech and Vortech now offers a very nice, all aluminum by-pass valve. We have switched to the new Vortech unit. There is nothing wrong with the Bosch units, it's just a running production change that Vortech made, and we made as well.

From our experience yes, it's sufficient. There are instructions that come with the TurboSmart BOV on how to dial it in but basically you adjust the body of the BOV which in turn adjusts the internal spring pressure. It's pretty easy to do really.

So far with 350 miles on the car with the Turbosmart BOV, I only have noticed how good she sounds I love everyone's reaction when they hear it lol.

I gotta install my new Clutch/Flywheel/CSC but will wait till the OEM gives out. Surprisingly it feels great for the type of daily driving I do.

I replaced the Stillen one with a front mount one from Frozzenboost.com.

There are a few guys on here that started running it after me . IVO(swiss370Z ) has done a great job on his he wrapped his hoses also.
