Give me a day and time and which shop are you talking about? Jtranz or Chucks? If I have the day off, I will show up no prob. As for wrenching, I hav'nt done anything except regular maintenance. Give it a little more time and we will see what happens.

Very nice. I'm saving up. 5k more to go plus installation. It is such a slow process.

It's definintely DIYable. Everyone I know with the VQHR version has installed it themselves. You might be able to save the installation cost depending on you mechanical ability.

Sorry gentlemen, I have been slow to address some of the questions here....
There won't be any difference in performance between the V1 and V2 kit, especially on a stock block. The main reason this change was done was to accommodate the new turbos that Precision is releasing. These new units simply don't have the smaller E compressor cover available. I did not want to be left behind due to this change by the turbo manufacturer. According to Precision, unless you are going to run over 30psi of boost, there is no difference in performance between the E compressor cover and the SP compressor cover. There is no tuner in the world that has a pair big enough to run 30+psi on a VQ, the most I have ever seen was 25psi, and that was on E85. There are many factors attributing to this...but let's just leave it at that. I just wanted to make sure that you guys understand that there wouldn't be any performance gains by switching to the V2. There are nice benefits when it comes to oil cooling (1 less oil line), and intercooler pipe routing, but that is about all.

Even if you could get the oil filter out through the trap door with the sandwich plate installed, every drop of oil inside it would either end up on the undertray or in your face.
