Does your turbo have a feed restrictor? A lot of turbos will get flooded per say with too much oil and it will leak out past the seal causing it

Does your turbo have a feed restrictor? A lot of turbos will get flooded per say with too much oil and it will leak out past the seal causing it to burn oil also if you have bad crank case ventilation the pressure will force oil from the turbo out the seal and cause it to burn oil that way as well

I've noticed some of the turbo kit for our cars just have crank case vents instead of rerouting them through the intake.

You know I'm not sure, I know the line that's on there now is suppose to restrict flow more than the one that was on there before but I guess the seal could be compromised. Bobby seems pretty certain it's coming from the turbo. The drain line doesn't look like it would restrict the flow out, no weird bends. Yeah I'll have to bring that up to him too, didn't think about that.

Interesting, yeah I gotta look into this.

In other news the guys at UpRev and Bobby got me running again last night! I was pretty down earlier in the day but they pulled through and got my maps patched for the new license since Nissan wiped mine clean with an update. Wasted $200+ for a update and tow for no reason. Made my problem worse instead of fixing it. I just wanted the VVELs checked and fixed oh well. She lives again to boost another day. I was worried my car would be down until next week but the guys stepped up and got me what was needed right up until closing.

Thats awesome, so just to clarify the original uprev tune was included with the turbo install and the dealer wiped the ecu clean when you took it in right?

Yes, my tune was done at VSR Motorsports which is included with the turbo install. The update to my ECM wiped it out along with the license. So I couldn't load my tune with the license being gone and part number changed on my ECM.

I can't speak on behalf of other turbo manufacturers as I only have Garrett turbos in my car but I do know that as per recommendation from Honeywell they advise you o run a (and don't quote me on this ill probably have to find the information again) 1/4"-1/8" restrictor at the center casing. I'm not so sure that your seal has actually been wiped out just yet. Anything possible sure but I do know that just as Cosmo stated there are some design flaws in turbo kits on the market for our cars. No I'm not doubting S&R's ability to design a kit by any means but it is easy to overlook tiny little details that can cause persistent nuisances.
Do you have a catch can on your car midnight?

Yeah I still need to run it by Bobby. I hope it's not cause I really don't wanna send it off to precision but if that's it then it is what it is lol. I do have a catch can, it came as part of the kit.

Got a call from Bobby today.. He seems to think it may have a wrist pin that's gone kaput. Looks like another built block for the boards will be in the works soon. Gave him the go ahead to tear it down and assess the damage.

Your motor went? They won't know for sure until the motor is completely disassembled. How many miles were on the motor and how many boosted miles did you have on her?

Well the motor hasn't gone but I think it is in some early stages. I was told it sounds like a wrist pin but yes until it's disassembled there's no way to be sure. I started hearing a ticking noise that sounded like loud valve chatter to me (untrained ear). This first happened right after I got home from Tampa. The car continued to run fine minus the noise which we thought might be the VVEL. So after months of enduring the nuisances it's had since getting it back I sent it back down to VSR. The motor had 15k maybe 15.5k when it got boosted and now has a little over 20k.
