stillen SC intermittent power issue at 60 mph

I recently installed a pair of 305/35/18's on my Z and wanted to see how much traction in comaprison I'd get. With the TCS ON, I took her from a dead stop to about 60-70mph on a back road with good constant traction (tire spin light didnt flash) and good solid acceleration throughout. However, right about 70 ish Mph, it felt like the rev limiter kicked on, and I lunged forward and had no more acceleration. This also happened a few weeks prior, but I was going around 60 when it happened. Do you think its the VTC kicking in? I havent been to the drag strip this season yet to see if the results will mimic again like on the country roads.

Find a safe location to turn off the VDC and try it again.

Auto and I'm guessing your shifting, Depends on when you shifted again, you will do that when the AUTO his the limiter, Just stops like hitting a wall < LOL I did that a handful of times in mine when I first got it because I always shifted manually. May do it if you didn't have the tranny shifts adjust also.

the auto does that? WTF?~! and yes if you cant tell i have the 7AT.. im not quite ballsy enough to floor it with the VTC off yet lol its still alot of power to get use to.

I accidentally tried to down shift on the track this weekend when I was trying to up shift and that does sound like what happens. Good news if you haven't done that the 7AT doesn't down shift at 7,500 rpms but you do hit the wall ANMVQ was describing. If you haven't tuned the 7AT you really should, it makes the car shift great! When we adjusted my line pressures in the 7AT we only did it above 5,000 rpm so it doesn't change day to day driving or down shifting but makes the high RPM shifts fast.

Ah. Yep, you need Uprev to raise the speed/rev limiter.

The answer to this... Racelogic Traction Control. I recently bought another unit for my V8 RX7 because they work so well. It's nice being able to put the extra added horsepower down with more confidence and ease.

The funny part is its not extra horsepower you're putting you're putting less. It cuts the power.

The extra added horsepower as in the supercharger, and yes it does cut some hp until traction is gained. Even with it cutting power my overall acceleration is now much better. The nice part about is its adjustable. Before I had it, my friends stock cts-v would leave me in the dust. Now I turn off the dsc and adjust the settings as aggressive as would like to without spinning tires too much. Have you driven a car with a Racelogic system yet?

No not yet. Sounds like fun.
