I have had friends and personal experience that any TT build will be priced around 15k+ if you want the job done right and a supercharger kit from about 9k+. The fact is you will never be satisfied and you get what you pay for.

A lot of people jump into the game thinking they'll just buy the kit slap it on and good to go. Not always the case, you still need a tune, possibly different injectors, fuel system, gauges, upgrade the pulley (if you have a SC), an engine managment etc. These things add up real quick and will put you over the budget in a heart beat.

Of course the HR motor is a different beast in it's own from the previous VQ motors, so it's kind of like comparing apples to oranges. The good thing about the HR is it takes to mods well and produces the power. I guess as time goes we will really see what the true price of a good build will run. For those thinking the 6-7 range I hope you guys have a different credit card to put the rest of it on.

I look forward to the rest of GTM's results, I know it will be promising and better then any other kits put on the market.
Thank you

Sam

whether we do the install or you buy the kit only and install it yourself , the kit does come with the tune It is part of the kit.

The reason for the jump in price was because URD was originally using a different blower and changed it over to the C38 after seeing the limitation of the first choice. The new blower was able to push the additional 100whp... Not sure on the specs on the original kit but I believe the intercooler was changed as well.

Miss my tacoma I had a 08 Double Cab in White with a 6" Fabtech Coilover lift on 35s/20s. Ill post a pic if I hunt one down.

they were using the smaller c32 or c30 i dont remember. the intercooler was the same, but they changed the piping. even so, i dont see how that is a 2k price increase, since the blower is not 2k by itself. ill be honest, i only owned the first, and read about the new one so i cant say exactly. either way, bring on the supercharger gtm!

Any good SDS kit will come with everything needed to begin boosting ASAP, turbo on the other hand, is a different story. BTW, my friend Alex's Vortech V5 kit on his 350 cost $5600 installed, 8k? really? No sir, not at all realistic. If this kit costs over $5500 alone, my business will be directed elsewhere, Stillen, Vortech, etc. A Supercharger is supposed to be a good way to boost for considerably less, with 8k, i'll build my own TT kit.

Have fun!! Let us know how your custom TT kit goes and be sure to post your gains and some pictures when your done...

Don't forget to get a huge piece of paper for your garage floor, as your 370z will be quite a beautiful paper weight parked right over it over the years it takes to make the custom TT kit functional.

I hope you sane fellow members understand my sarcasm.

You skipped over where he said he would go with a competing kit (assuming they costs less) and instead commented on a passing comment about building his old TT kit.

I said I could build my own TT kit for 8k, hell, even less. (This means putting together the parts for the kit, not bolting it up). Of course I would never consider it because TT's are neither reliable or practical. Back on topic please.
