Unless I missed it your sure its the right pulley or we know it is not? The numbers are right in line with that boost pressure on the FI finished build thread, if everything else is correct another 2 psi would get you to where it needs,to be.

It wouldn't be unthinkable that they included the wrong pulley.

I heard from bobby that they re-dynod it and it made the same power. At this point I would enjoy your boosted z and hope and prey you will not need anything from gtm later..

If it's the wrong pulley I'd assume you could get it from the manufacturer. Is it a Vortech or Rotrex?

I've gone through this several times in multiple threads already but I'll do it one more time to get you up to date. I came on the 370Z scene a little over 13 months ago. Read plenty of thread/reviews and did some test drives of various vehicles and decided on the Z. I liked everything about the car except the power but thought I could deal with it, a short time later I figured out I couldn't. At that time I decided to go SC and there were only two choices. I read some threads and quickly realized Stillen was OUT, that left only GTM. Another member on this forum pointed me towards the MHI kit that GTM was getting ready to introduce. I thought WOW...$6K shipped, that's great. Everybody was talking positive about it and a lot of people were signed up, so much so I was #80. I believe at that time even YOU were talking positive about GTM.

There's not one manufacturer or shop that doesn't have negative feedback in their history and I should have done a better job of resarching GTM's history but forum heavyweight's like SPOHN had signed up for the MHI and talking very positive about it so no red flags were hitting me over the head. The only other TT options I had were GTM, Greddy and FI which were both more expensive and/or not out yet or not on the shelf and had to be produced. The singe turbo option were BP and VSR but at that time EVERYONE was jacking GTM and their unborn MHI kit so that's where my focus was. With my limited budget I made my choice and went with the MHI.

Last December I got tired of waiting and changed my order to a 1.5 SC since Sam already had $6k of my money it was a quick decision to go with a product that has already been produced. As far as numbers go I don't know what you've been telling Bobby but you have not done any research as to the HP capabilities of this kit. This kit with the 88mm pulley gets 500 on a regular basis, only one of the three finished builds on this site was in the 480's and that was due to a fuel problem. Jon at Z1 has done multiple builds that have gone past the 500 mark, even Baer got like 513 with completely stock exhaust. Stage 1 kits get close to 450. My expectations are nothing more than what most people have gotten, I've paid full price for the kit and am paying full price for the install I expect nothing less in return.

Understood man and I am on your side here but I wouldn't blame bobby for your loss of questionable hp. Different cars, dyno's, etc. I hope you get it worked out..
Just curious but is the break-in period in the gtm instructions for the compressor??

From what I understand they are but as Bobby states they should be in the first few pages.

Yes, as per GTM instructions it says "A break-in period of 65 miles is highly recommended. During the break-in period, stay out of boost(boost gauge highly recommended) and do not rev the engine over 3500rpms."

As for boost levels, 9-10lbs is what you should be getting. I have the same kit with 88mm pulley putting down 513whp and never seen more than 10lbs even during the dyno tuning. If anything, you may have a slight leak somewhere but still with that much boost you should be much closer to 500whp. There must be some other issue going on. Hope you can find it ASAP. Good luck

It still kills me to see GTM doing so poorly lately. I must be one of the few last ones to get lucky because they really took good care of me. Even had one very important part that was wrong during the install but it was shipped overnight without any hustle. My complete kit itself arrived at my door step in east coast 5 weeks after I sent my payment.

I still hope they turn it around because they really do make a great product.

if you have a feeling it's just their dyno reading low, ask if they have any other graphs from previous SC installs on the same dyno. If not ask if they have any turbo install dyno's and compare those to other turbo graphs in the finished installs thread to compare same kits/psi readings and see if they are relative or always lower reading, this will show you if the dyno they have is just a low reading dyno, and if it is, don't worry about it...

I may have missed it, but what's the boost at? Any charts to see how well it is making boost? I'm not exactly sure WTF is going on with GTM, but at some point I'm going to need to order the 3" down pipes with EWGs from them. [sigh]

And just because VSR is helping you out, it doesn't make them god.
If VSR didn't read the instructions saying to break-in the kit. VSR should be on the hook to replace the blower. No if, ands, or buts about it.

I talked to Jon at Z1 a few days ago and he said break-in wasn't that big of a deal, but who knows...it may have came from the factory weak. I just want the problem solved at this point and my life to go on. BTW...it only putting out 8.7 lbs

Ok, just read through your last updates on power.
At 8PSI and around 400HP that is correct, so this means you have the wrong pulley for your kit and need to get the correct one. I would say you can call GTM and try to get the correct pulley out of them, or you can contact rotrex directly and see if they know what part number you need and where to source it.
