I agree with wheels/tires and suspension (BBK I feel can wait) and a tougher clutch when the time comes to get the turbo but the lightweight flywheel stuff is garbage on the Z since 03' They are incredibly annoying with the loud a$$ chatter. Although if you still feel the need to get one OS Giken is definitely the way to go.

since we r on the subject of clutch and you said chatter. I got a question. Only mod to my car is G3 intakes but this i have noticed from day 1. When im driving in 1st gear...say in a parking lot and i have to stop, i put my clutch in as im slowing down, i can hear a chattering noise...sounds like something rattling around. Is this a sound that i should get the dealership to look at or is it something that will go away once the car is full broken in...im at 3200km and i can still hear it now and then. Its pretty loud to.

it'll never go away and it isn't something to have the dealership look at most likely. If you are installing a TT setup why puss out and not get a flywheel that is over 20lbs lighter than the DIESEL TRUCK designed dual mass because it's "annoying." OH GOD when I push my clutch in and the engine responds instantly it makes a little noise! The JWT clutch and flywheel is one of the top rated mods for the 370z behind test pipes, G3 intake, cat back exhaust (all of which add more noise).

by all means when i do go forced induction i will be buying a better clutch. But this stock clutch for a stock car (well was stock before the intakes) with only 3200km on it, that is a really weird noise that the clutch is making

if it's really weird take it in could be manufacturer defect. Not saying you should live with everything, just that ignoring a 6-10whp gain because it's slightly louder is gayer than the '80s.

Seems like all the parts i buy now will have to be changed for the twin turbo set up...exhaust manifold is different, intakes are different...alot of stuff is different. Is there any parts out yet that will work once i get the TT set up, besides the exhaust? If not ill just put the money away and save it.

if you don't all ready have one, oil cooler, and maybe a radiator when they come out. The turbo system and engine will thank you for it! Otherwise i agree to work on suspension and brakes while you are waiting to go w/ the twins.

It's not slightly louder..it's very noticable(or used to be in the 350). When you're putting down 400-450whp and you want another 6-10 whp then I can think of much better ways to achieve it than a light weight flywheel that every time you come to a light and your car is in neutral there is that sound of marbles in a blender. It's just my 2cents.

Also that clutch thing the OP is talking about, I'm not sure which sound you're talking about because there is the normal not very loud every day sound the clutch makes and then there is the one I noticed the 370 makes when, like you said, in first gear and the rpm's are winding down if you press the clutch it makes a very loud chatter. I thought it broke when I first heard it do this. I try to clutch in before the rpm start to drop when in first gear to avoid this. Try that and see if it helps and if not ask the stealership.

+1 after my experience with my 350z Lightweight FW I will NEVER buy another one again... I would rather make up the power in some other area that doesnt make my car sound like a deisel at low rpm's when im accelerating. Its embarassing to have a nice car that sounds like $hit especially when you are driving next to a wall or in a drive through...

^Agree with these guys. Don't change the flywheel out.....the stock "heavy" one works the best with forced induction. The ones who changed had many problems. Research before making your moves people..

I still dont know if the clutch is ****** or not. It almost sounds like either something is loose and falling...but it works fine. As for going TT...thats still the plan but im going to wait a year or two until A. The price drops and B. more parts come out...until then im going to mod my ZX6R.

Suspension First, always, all the time.
