GTM Stage 1.5 Supercharged Roadster Build
 

I figured it's about time to start my build thread. Due to my work and family schedule, all work including installation and tuning will be done by RT tuning. After plenty of reading but never enough, and speaking to a few members with completed builds, order was placed approximately a month ago. Sam said 4-6 weeks, but then was told 4-6 weeks again 2 weeks ago. So here is the build list as of right now:

GTM Turnkey SC1.5 w/88 mm pulley
BLK IC Pipe coating
GTM 25 row oil cooler
GTM oil cooler kit w/ remote thermostatic adaptor
GTM Vented wheel well liners
CSF race radiator
AAM oil spacer
Innovate wideband A/F gauge
Defi Boost, Temp, Pressure gauges

I forgot to mention that I do already have Motordyne ART pipes and Berk exhaust. Not a DD either. Looking to keep a somewhat stock look/exhaust note for the sleeper affect. I know eventually I'll have to do a clutch upgrade, but for now I'm looking into traction/handling next.

Is it 7AT? How much estimate power gain?

Looking good, the debate on traction is an ongoing one with the Z and boost. Check this thread out: http://www.the370z.com/forced-induct...boosted-z.html

Should be a solid build and a fun ride, also not knowing your budget but throwing out a suggestion. If you are doing the CSF radiator I would also upgrade the fans/shround (GTM has the only option currently), to help with additional cooling.

I was told by George/Sam my 1.5 SC was going to ship on the 25th...it's the 27th and I don't have any tracking numbers as of yet and George won't answer my PM's.

^lol.. u must be new around here. There's a thread about that problem as well.

George and Matt replied to my PM's after 1-2 days. It is always best to call them, usually 10am-11am is best. I actually just spoke with Sam.

excited to see another 1.5 kit completed. please keep us updated, i have the same kit.

Nooooo....not new, I just have more hope than sense. Nothing but FI is gonna make this car acceptable to me. I'm just grasping at straws right now before I get fed up and take my marbles back and go home. I love the car in every way except it's power, thought I could deal with it but I was wrong. Wish I could jam a Coyote motor in it....yeah, I could deal with that.

I've talked to Sam many times, it's what he says back is the problem. If you're going to tell someone a date STICK TO IT or don't say anything at all. Getting peoples hopes up and then leaving them standing on the corner waiting is demoralizing. Granted he only gave me a date one time but I'm my wife is getting impatient with me. It's a lot of money and quite a bit more when you consider I'll be taking it to Z1 to get it installed. Money can always be spent elsewhere on practical things unlike boost. I don't know what the @&#* I said to piss George off but it's been over a week since the last time he responded to a PM, I've sent him at least 3 since and one when he was online on the forum so I know he saw it. :shakes head:

Understand...they've had full payment since the first part of June and another chunk of money in mid December when I decided to go with the SC instead of the MHI kit.

This is a 6spd. manual and should increase hp by about 150

They didn't send me my fuel pump mounting bracket and after days trying to get in touch with them I just said forget it and talked to Phunk and had to buy a new one.

yes i did. he said he talked to Sam... that doesnt mean over the phone. he might have called him months ago but it doesnt seem like he called him recently, especially since he said i havnt received a PM from George in over a week.

i wouldnt have posted about calling if it said in his post that he has been calling.

Yeah there's no way around it, gotta call and hound them LOL. I am still waiting on my base map... car is sitting at the shop

I called twice, both times Sam wasn't there. Left a phone number for Sam and haven't gotten a call yet. I guess I'll will have to wait till Monday for anything. PM'd Sam but at this point I don't expect much.:shakes head:

I have talked to Sam recently but the I was on my cell at work at the time and I really should of just told him to call me on a land line because i didn't really catch what he was telling me but that was about a week and half ago. I talked to him an a phone a couple weeks prior to this also.

for me if I left messages with someone I'd never get return call. I would just call around 10am, after lunch and 3-4 u'll catch Sam that way lol

Just figured I'd post an update for what it's worth. Spoke to Sam on Thurs. and was told my kit should be ready to ship in 7-10 days. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Does anyone ever learn on this damn forum ????

My heart goes out to you guys wanting boost that bad going with gtm... I know this wont do you guys any good with their supercharger kit but I do have a base gtm tt map if anyone needs one..

Extremely disappointed with GTM. Cancelled my order. I'm not here to bash, but the facts will speak for themselves. Ordered my kit through RT tuning on Jan. 24 2014. Spoke to Sam just prior to ordering he said "we have everything here on the shelf, it's just a matter of putting it all together. Should be 4-6 weeks at the most." Waited 4 weeks to follow up and was told they were a little backed up and would be another 4-6 weeks. after waiting another 4 wks. spoke to Sam and he said " would ship in 7-10 days." Relayed that to RT tuning and when they contacted Sam to confirm he said that he did not say that and would never tell a customer that. Continued to talk to Sam at least twice a week for another 4 weeks and full of empty promises. After 3 months he still didn't have the supercharger, pulley, ic piping, bpv or injectors. At this point I decided to cancel my order through RT tuning and Vince gave me a complete refund. I just simply could not continue to do business with such a dishonest and unprofessional person. Vince and RT tuning were nothing but professional through the entire process.

that sucks mate, sorry to hear, it's not only you who are having issues though, it's everyone.

what are your next movements? stillen supercharger or one of the other turbo kits from other vendors?

Sorry to hear that, I feel your pain. Finally got my supercharger kit yesterday but of course it's missing the injectors and flash cable. It's a huge pain trying to get what you paid for out of them

This seems to be the norm for most aftermarket businesses that I have dealt with. I'd rather go the the dentist for a root canal than deal with them. it really spoils the fun of modding your car and at the end of the day, you think about how that money could have been spent better.

Not sure, really wanted the GTM for many reasons and not interested in any other kits. Looking into GTR or new vette stingray. we'll see.
