I think you guys are overreacting a bit much. There is no magic number as to how many times you should check the plugs after each pass. That's why you have UpRev. Monitor your conditions on each pass.

Do you know how long it takes to access the plugs? You have to remove the brace, intake manifold and the throttle bodies if I remember correctly. It was not a quick job that's all I can say. Doing that at the strip will take forever.

This is why I don't usually post because there are a lot of different opinions, or people who no first hand experience, or people who just recently sprayed and have gotten a false sense of security.

Read other forums besides here. Read all the knowledge. Buy all the safety precautions. Learn how to use them, know what they do, know the ranges each readings should be at.

Remember every car has the same risks when going F/I, the key is knowing the limits and knowing the ranges things need to be at. I've ran through more than 30 bottle refills and several passes down the drag strip with no issues for 3 years, take it for what it's worth. GL guys I'm out.:tiphat:

Yes -agreed the plugs are a beeotch to change. Same dilemma on my 350z. I was only suggesting for the first few passes on upon a new install it might be worth it. I say this because I experienced on my 100shot (with uprev tune and standard 4degree ignition retard) that my timing was still too much, and I had black (and slight shiny diamond metallic ) speckling on the porcelain - a strong indicator of detonation. I dropped the jet to 75 to confirm, ran a pass, and had good timing mark and no speckling - then I had my map changed to take an additional degree out.

Sometimes it is better to know what going on outside of blind faith in the tune. To change plugs constantly, yeah agreed not practical.

Nice to see some are N20 on here, albeit the minority for sure - all great info.

So your saying i wont feel at 50 shot at all????

The Z is fast enough for me. Its turning into a weekend car soon anyways.

Just looking for something that slightly feels a bit quicker with out having to worry if my motor is going to blow.

So people are running 75 shots with no tune? Can the ECU compensate for the changes?

Im a noob when it comes to nitrous guys. fill me in :)

LNATKFRNG 02-15-2014 08:12 AM

That's correct, research your *** off and you will find that folks are running the 75 just fine on stock everything, it's always best to get tuned for any mod especially nitrous, to ensure u aren't hurting anything but the purpose of the wet kits it just that, to keep additional fuel supplied. I suppose you could set up a 50 shot, but IMHO I think would b a waste if time, you ARE going to step it up as soon as you are satisfied that everything is ok! Just go with the 75, and do t spray all over town.....just to say it, zex doesn't even suggest jet sizes equivalent to a 50 shot.

This may not be much help, but I tried the app anyway so lots of wheel spin I tried to feather the pedal to keep it down that I think explains the 13.5et but not the 113.1-1/4 speed

Take any type of app or rating like that with a grain of salt. Track conditions, temp, DA, etc. Play a large role in ET and trap speeds.

Run it at the track as I would like to see what exactly a nitrous Z does at a prepped tracked with better conditions than here.

Does anyone have a step by step instruction on how to set up a nitrous kit on a 370z with a switch and everything?

megalapagas 02-23-2014 11:22 PM

Hey OP, got any vids man of drag racing etc.???

RyanWest 02-24-2014 02:01 AM

Still looking for instructions on how to set up RPM switch relay? anyone?

LNATKFRNG 02-24-2014 08:43 PM

I also bought my nmu from some other than the oem u can down load the instructions from their site I'm sure, as for the zex rpm window switch it was pretty easy just tapped the #1 coil, the WOT switch I tapped at the TPS I'll try to get pictures of those spots for you tomorrow, with your system I don't know if you will have the same set up but I had to bypass the window switch while programming the WOT, if you need that I'll walk you through it. I also found a diagram on the forum of a relay set up that helped me I'll look for it. Also check out the 350z forums they have been spraying those for years and you will find a lot of info

As for videos I have none, I plan on hitting the strip by the end of March with it, just to see where I've ended up with it, I'll post a slip when I do.

Please get me the pictures man. Will give rep :)

Im really interested in setting up a kit but only if i can do it on a RPM window switch.

RyanWest 02-26-2014 02:13 PM

Hope they are good enough, the TPS wire I tapped the green wire, used a T-tap so it can be unplugged from the window switch and hooked to a T tap in between the window switch and the WOT switch effectively bypassing the rpm window for programming WOT

The #1 coil orange wire I tapped for rpm

Get this fuel tap z1 if you don't have one. Don't cut your fuel line
