That should be right, can you post up a pic from the side of what you have looks like so far? I'm assuming you have the two alternator brackets bolted together and mounted to the side of the engine as well as the main bracket correct? We only carry one bolt around that length so the chances are low that it is the wrong one, it seems something else is a miss.

martin82 02-12-2014 08:14 PM

I don't have a picture of it at the moment, but I asked the installer, and I circled it he said it is this bolt he says it can only thread 1-2 turns only. I could have the wrong bolt not sure... there has been no change on a 2012 I assume? Thanks.

One more pic of the bolt I'm talking about (not my picture) , Matt@gtm can I get one sent overnight tomorrow? I'll pay for it offcourse says it is 1/4" too short thought, maybe you or someone can measure it really quick?

Baer383 02-12-2014 08:54 PM

The bolt is not short you have to put your other hand behind the alt to push the captured nut forward for it to start.

And I can guarantee your installer DID NOT measure the length of the bolts as shown in the directions.
And installed the bolt in the wrong spot.

martin82 02-12-2014 09:07 PM

I think the actual bolt in the picture is missing, I will know tomorrow once I get pictures.

Every bolt that I had on the car that goes with that kit is in the boxes somewhere.

martin82 02-12-2014 09:14 PM

Thanks for the help in pm's also. I will have more info tomorrow.

Matt@GTM 02-13-2014 02:08 AM

pm sent about this and the filter tube routing. Not normally my field of expertise but I've bolted several of these bracket sets together so I will see if i can spot the issue for you.

DEpointfive0 02-13-2014 02:25 AM

There's a shop close by that has ever bolt known to mankind, I can go tomorrow and ship them down to SD if needed

Matt@GTM 02-13-2014 02:34 AM

If he DOES have the correct bolt sending him one that will bolt the alternator together regardless wont fix the fact that the brackets would be mounted incorrectly. I am waiting on a picture from him before we go any further with it, if a spacer is out of place and a bracket is crooked or to far out it is going to cause nothing but problems in the future for him. If the bolt is missing we have hundreds of them, they are a cutom machined bolt so you would have a hard time finding it in even the largest bolt selection.

Nice to see a few GTM guys helping out! :tiphat:

Matt@GTM 02-13-2014 02:40 AM

we try we just have a lot on our hands right now, so far as machining goes I'm pretty much caught up so I'm trying to help out a bit in my free time with other things, hence me on here at 12:39 in the morning...damn insomnia lol It also gives me time to do some new development and finish off some long term stuff, we have some really sweet things I've been working on lately that are getting pretty close to being done, actually I just finished a bunch of clutch stuff but I need to write up the manuals and take care of some of the paperwork for them first. The new bolt on adjustable billet pedal stop is sweet. Just have to find the time to get it on the website.

Actually I have worked here for a while now, my main role is machinist/programmer/r&d so I won't be able to help with a lot of things that are more Sam's department but I will try to help out if it is something I do work with. We are always in Mon-Fri and a lot of saturdays 9-6pst if anyone has a problem give us a call, or shoot Sam or George an email.

martin82 02-13-2014 11:18 AM

Matt I definitely appreciate your quick responses. I went ahead and sent you a pm, it looks like the bolt is missing nothing to do with the kit itself, either I lost it or something or misplaced it.

Thanks again for the help.

martin82 02-14-2014 12:27 PM

Thanks just cleared it!

martin82 02-14-2014 12:30 PM

Ordered the following:
GTM 70mm radiator
14" ho spal fan + shroud (GTM)
Baffled oil pan (GTM)

Now working on designing oil cooler locations

martin82 02-14-2014 04:16 PM

So just found out, nothing to do with the Kit. Since the 2012+ have the stock oil cooler, it has to be removed and capped per instructions.
The oil filter stud for 2009-2011 (shorter about 1.25") part number is #: 1521331U00, at first dealer will say that there is only one part number for 2009-2014 but it is not correct.
The part is only like $5-8 and some dealers will have it in stock, pretty sure it is the same as sentra, maxima's etc or pretty much any other nissan.

Here's the one for oem oil cooler:

and what the shorter should look like or similar:

Baer383 02-14-2014 06:04 PM

I had to buy one for a 2010 to put on my 2013 Nismo.

martin82 02-14-2014 06:08 PM

Yup, I completely didn't think about that!

martin82 02-17-2014 02:51 PM

So I am still missing the 70mm radiator/shroud and spal fans and the canned tune.

Figure out how to install an second oil cooler as well.

I also received the oil baffle pan but due to the oil relocation kit this might not clear it will have to see.

GTM 1.5 need suggestions on build

Oil baffled pan is in, the oil kit relocation gets in the way so will need to find somewhere else to install

You're going to have a problem b/c the SS lines were made for the oil filter adaptor to go right where you have it.

martin82 02-17-2014 08:01 PM

Yeah will need new lines are will probably relocate the air filter to the top of engine bay

How the hell are you going to do that?

martin82 02-17-2014 10:36 PM

I meant to type oil filter lol

martin82 02-19-2014 11:49 AM

Ignore the oil filter it was there just for mock up. Everything got relocated correctly to clear the baffled oil pan.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/20/ygu9egud.jpg

In addition to the 25row w spal fan oil cooler I had a 34 row installed on passenger side. I might not need a spal fan here since the Stillen bumper has 2 side vents

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/20/apytydas.jpg

Car is now done but waiting on GTM to ship my radiator/fans/shroud and email canned tune and should be ready to fire up.

SS_Firehawk 02-19-2014 12:26 PM

That whole front is going to be uninstalled again just to get the radiator to fit. When they put mine on 6 months ago, Sam said they had them on the shelf and ready to go. Hopefully they don't take too long getting it out. Who knows, maybe he blew some smoke up my @ss to get me to buy it lol.

martin82 02-19-2014 12:34 PM

Yeah no choice, installer wanted to make sure the whole kit fit fine, only a minor snags due to installing other parts and we weren't sure it was compatible etc, no fault to the kit. Installer did say the kit went in very well and was impressed on the quality.

Just spoke with Sam, it should be mailed out today then just wait for can tune and ready to fire up.

martin82 02-19-2014 12:47 PM

Forgot to mention I still need a clutch/flywheel csc.........

theDreamer 02-19-2014 12:55 PM

Good to know about the GTM oil pan and SC relocation.
Was it difficult to move somewhere else?

Call Joe or Seb. You have different needs than most of us cause as I recall you plan to track it a lot.

martin82 02-19-2014 12:57 PM

No but have to buy new lines, waiting on them to arrive. Since I was getting new lines to run dual oil cooler 25 row in driver side and 34 row in passenger, needed new lines anyways. The coolers will need to be run in series and not parallel (better cooling) but due to both units not being the same size one could overrun the other in parallel config.

martin82 02-20-2014 11:24 PM

Some more progress pictures.

End of today all oil cooler lines custom cut and installed. The first pic you can see how they relocated the oil kit so it doesn't hit the gtm oil pan.

Shop started to install Phunk's fuel stave fix should be done tomorrow.

Gtm radiator and fans etc should arrive tomorrow.

Need to install softer rear springs in the rear, new spl control arm up from thanks to Corner3!! Also replace driver rear axle (cv joint is almost blown, this is my 2nd one) I bet the cv joint is binding due to being too low at the track. Load can tune, later hit the dyno for full tune.

Forgot to post pictures of the oil coolers, 34 row in passenger side and 25 row I think in drivers side with spal fan. Will see if I need a fan on passenger side later but don't think so. I will have to later shroud the lol coolers, radiator, etc.

Gtm 70mm radiator, shroud+Spal fans arrived.

Ordered the ACT HD 6 puck clutch and the HD CSC + MC from Zpeed Performance, thanks a lot Joe!

Cj Motorsports fuel starve fix has been installed today. Project is moving fast.

martin82 02-21-2014 07:41 PM

Bad pic but u get the idea http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/22/eguvyhet.jpg

martin82 02-24-2014 04:16 PM

For some reason I can't find the stock wiring diagram to the cooling fan control module or wiring for the fans.

I am upgrading to SPal fan's etc but having issue locating the diagrams in service manual.
