Default Has anyone gone from boosted S2000 to boosted 370Z?

I have a supercharged S2000 I've had the past 5 years boosted. I is currently at 410whp using the 12 psi vortech kit with custom tune etc.

I have been thinking it is time to move on to a different car as I've had this for over 7 years in total now and out 120k+ miles on it.
I have always liked the Z cars and thought about getting a new or certified 370Z. I know stock it will be way too slow for me so I would need to boost it.

Has anyone done that change before?
The s2000 and boost are made for each other. That motor lasts forever wi tons of boost. I know the 370Z is also a strong motor as long as you don't push it too far over 500whp it seems.

I just want a newer car that's a little more comfortable and also fun. It wouldn't be a daily driver as I have another car for that. But would be a spring summer and fall car for fun.

You'll miss the Honda reliability and is simplistic design, I love s2ks my best friend had one and I had the Zs...both are great sports cars, cant go wrong either way...or you could wait it out to see what nissan does next. I just bought a boosted performance kit and will run just over 500 whp around 11 psi. I love my moddiction shift knob btw

Yes, depends a lot on what you want from the car.

The Z is much larger and carries more weight on the front axle. The balance is notably different and frustrating, especially if you are coming from an AP1. The transmission is much less refined, and getting heat out of the engine bay will be a challenge.

That said, the extra interior space can be nice, the hatch allows you to fit much more than you can in an S, and you can wind up with a nicer torque curve with the right arrangement.

Thanks for the input guys. Tough decision. Ready for a change but grass is not always greener I guess.
Been tossing around idea of an LS3 Grandsport or c6 z06 as well.
Those run a bit more money though.
Lots of thinking and test driving to do.

Everything will feel heavy compared to S2000 unless I went with a lotus Exige or something.

Glad to hear you are happy with the shift knob Joepro! Thank you!

There are some things to appreciate about the S2000. But it is my personal opinion that once you experience the powerband of a boosted VQ, you will probably never look back. I always loved the S2K as a car, and enjoyed borrowing them from friends. But for me, the engine ruined that car. I know it can handle a lot of power, but I loathe its driving characteristics.

It does feel a bit slow around town but once I get the revs over 6k or so it's fast. Makes most other engines feel really tame on the top end. Around town my stage 2 legacy gt feels much faster but once you rev it up it feels so slow in comparison.

I need to go drive a new 370Z I think. New mustang looks like it will definitely be a much better performer but don't think I could get over the fact it's a mustang.

I think that new mustang looks like crap...however the past few years were not bad I looked at one but couldn't handle the interior or the mustang thing...

Yeah interior is still to retro and cheap feeling. Almost pulled the trigger on a Boss 302 but couldn't do it.
The 5.0's are the best bang for buck performance out there but still don't think I could do it.

What made you make the change? If selling my S2000 I need something higher performance. As nice as 370Z is obviously z06 is a whole other league of performance.
