GTM SC Intake tube

Since I ordered my Sc kit a long time ago, took 7 months to arive and when it showed up the passenger side intake tube came damaged. Kit was installed in May of 2013 and I am still waiting for them to replace the part. So if GTM is reading this, yes I realize that you have my money already and can treat my like I don't exist, I get that. But get your **** together, I just want my one part. It should not take EIGHT months to get what is probably an off the shelf part for you guys. C'mon
end rant.

PS if anyone has the passenger side intake tube off the GTM Stage 2 SC kit I would be interested.

Presto 01-31-2014 02:13 PM

You must have the patience of a rock if you waited 8 months for a intake tube. Wow.
If gtm can't get customer service right, it's a sinking ship no matter how good the products they make. I just hope people are aware of this.

Dzel 01-31-2014 02:15 PM

I'm LOL'ing not at you and your situation but at how it's becoming relevant of how GTM does business

FPenvy 01-31-2014 02:16 PM

i have a twin?

also OP GTM has a horrible rep with customer service and massive wait times. some people get lucky but not many.....at all.

Tombonombona 01-31-2014 02:16 PM

I'm sure my buddy BlackandOrange could comment on how long he has been waiting for his twin turbo kit… Told me he's scared of trying to get a refund on the deposit because he thinks GTM will just keep it.

Dzel 01-31-2014 02:19 PM

I'm really sorry you guys have to go through this. I was going to buy a GTM SC from this guy Martin but decided not to go through with the main reason that I don't want to deal with GTM

Yeah I advise against it. I don't care if anyone gets cranky about me bad mouthing them. The installers of the kit had a helluva time dealing with them, said trying to get any info for tuning was harder than getting a teenager to work a menial job. They even had to fight to get install instructions.

Boosted Performance 01-31-2014 02:58 PM

Sorry to hear about your issues OP...but maybe their customers are not calling during the "bona fide business hours"? Apparently they do have a "phone number, e-mail address and fax number". Yes I just :stirthepot:

On a more serious note, drive up with Kelby in the spring for the tuning session here in Edmonton, and get a new pipe built while you are here.

Tombonombona 01-31-2014 03:02 PM

That's tempting, need it to match the other pipe so I can have them powder coated colour matched to the paint… At least there is a Canadian company giving the others a run for their money.

It wasn't this bad before the MHI debacle. That seems to be taking all their time and energy. It was never great, but this is a new low for them.

faceglide 01-31-2014 04:56 PM

Just don't ask them for a refund.......:stirthepot:

Very sorry to hear that OP. This is getting ridiculous,,:shakes head:

Reading stories like yours really puts people off who want to go FI.

Don't get me wrong, FI is awesome… I'm just saying DO NOT CHOOSE GTM.

This is the real sad part.

Tombonombona 01-31-2014 05:55 PM

If I had to do it over again I think I definitely would have went with Boosted Performance, or the Stillen kit.

octet 01-31-2014 06:05 PM

And i just ordered the twin SC kit, LOL :)

Tombonombona 01-31-2014 06:12 PM

So you should get it in about 2016… BlackandOrange has been waiting 10 months for his GTM twin turbo kit… He just went and bought a boosted performance kit instead.

Sam promissed me 4 weeks. I paid with PayPal, will wait to the limit and file a claim if it doesn't happen. 2 weeks already gone.

Tombonombona 01-31-2014 06:32 PM

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA four weeks? I'm sorry but that is hilarious. I think four months if you're lucky.

We shall see, for now i have to give him credit, he promissed to send me some parts for another SC kit within 7 days, he sent them out the same day. Can't fault him so far, spoke to him again yesterday, he said everything is looking fine, no backorders, so we should be good for 4 weeks limit. 2 more weeks to go :)

Saying that, I understand your frustration, I run several businesses in UK and I can't keep everybody happy. Sam is aware of the bad reputation in terms of customer service via email or forums, he promised to look into it :) However, i called about 5-6 times so far, he answered the phone on every single occassion and was brilliant.

blackonorange 01-31-2014 06:50 PM

For the record there are people out there that are having a lot harder time with gtm then me, I just said cya and messaged Sasha.

No backorders? I ordered mine in October of last year he told me 4 weeks too. Then 4 weeks ago he told me the end of the week was worst case scenario, THEN today he told me worst case scenario was 2 weeks from now. smh.. I wouldn't even be upset if he told me it'd be 5-6 months from the get go...I just don't like being given the run around.

Tombonombona 01-31-2014 07:06 PM

He called me a few minutes ago. Told me his main hang up is a contractor that they use to finish the piping ( buff, polish whatever ) and that they are horribly slow. Not adding anything but that is what Sam said.

Are we talking about the same kit here? GTM Twin SuperCharger kit?

Voice59 01-31-2014 07:16 PM

No, SC stage 1.5. It would make sense that there'd be no back orders for yours because not too many people order it. However, if he's having trouble producing a 1.5 kit, I don't know how he can honestly give you that time estimate on a twin.

octet 01-31-2014 07:24 PM

Oh, ok, lets see what happens in the next 2-3 weeks :) Good luck with your orders, fitting and tuning guys!

Voice59 01-31-2014 07:53 PM

Likewise...

I was all in on a GTM SC kit, but because of recent events with them, and Sasha's beyond awesome service, my money when to Sasha. I think GTM has done great things for the Z community and I wish them the best and hope they can get back on track, until then, we have plenty of other great vendors!

see only problem is there is only 1 other supercharger kit GTM doesnt make and thats the stillen kit, we need more supercharger kits on the market

Joepro 01-31-2014 09:02 PM

Go with Sasha, I think he might have one kit left... someone get it!

Fast Intentions TT.......:worship:

Joepro 02-01-2014 07:27 AM

I though I wanted a SC too, but turbos are so much more fun IMO, Plus value vs performance, I see you get a well build kit, great service, an great fexiblilty with the BP kit. Even on low boost it will out perform the SC kit in terms of numbers anyway...

Dzel 02-01-2014 09:13 AM

Maybe Sasha can branch out into the world of superchargers??? If so Sasha I'm your guinea pig!

George@GTM 02-03-2014 04:38 AM

Tom,

I am sorry it has taken you so long to get your replacment tube, the vendor that supplies us this tube is sending us a new one finally and we should be shipping it to you this week.

Thank you for your patience,

-George

octet 02-03-2014 04:48 AM

George, situations like these are unacceptable in terms of Customer Service, and apologies like these don't help, specially when they are months later. As previously stated, I'm running few businesses myself, and if that would happen in one of them, I'd make sure my guys will keep in contact at least weekly, send a free gift or a voucher.

It's a shame guys that your reputation is not as good as your work, your products are way better than other kits available on the market today. Improve on the communication and customer relations and everything will change in better.

Saying that, I deal with GTM and never ever had any problems, at the moment I'm waiting for the Twin SuperCharger kit to be dispatched within the next two weeks as agreed initially.

:jerkingoffmotionsmiley:

8 months is not a vendor problem. It's a GTM problem. You guys seem to be throwing your vendors under the bus a lot lately to explain problems that fall squarely on your shoulders. The buck stops with you. Your customers don't care WHY you failed them. They care THAT you failed them. And it's really telling the OP was left hanging until this thread popped up, and then magically Sam picks that exact moment to call. Guys, we're not idiots. Give us some credit.

Dzel 02-03-2014 08:17 AM

Exactly! Nicely said

Chuck33079 02-03-2014 08:20 AM

Why can't these guys get their **** together? I like their parts. I want more of them. I have cash in hand to buy more of them. But I'll be damned if they see another dime of my money until they get their issues worked out.

Dzel 02-03-2014 09:42 AM

Man that's exactly how I feel. I'll have to wait till next year to go FI but a sweet deal came up on a SC and I got the ok from the wifey. But I didn't go through with it just cause I do not want to deal with GTM.

The car would sit there for months with the SC installed waiting on a tube from Sam. SMH these guys are single handedly ruining modding for this community
