Default Meth/water injection?

I have decided to add a met/water injection system to my car only to be used on the track as a safety system. At this point I'm thinking I'm using the Aquamist system, does anyone know of a better system or have a reason why I shouldn't use Aquamist?

I used this one on my Sti. Worked great. Coolingmist CMGS PRO Water Methanol Injection Kit Import Image Racing

Aquamist is pretty much the best available, but there are other options out there that will work fine.

If this is true thats what I will use, I want as much insurance as I can get! We are not going to tune for its extra power, just for cooling and safety. My car is a 7AT with 302 tq at the wheels so with the trans ratted for 300 I don't want more. Thanks for the help!

Aquamist is a good choice and is what I use. When I moved to Texas, I knew this was a must. The Aquamist held up well in 110F Texas heat. It also helped tremendously with keeping intake air temps down and boost levels consistent. In the winter I don't use it much and actually tend to turn it off.

Great! Thank you for your input! I probably wont run mine unless it's real hot or on the track. It's really to save the motor when I'm beating on it.

when i had my stillen i used stage 2 snowperformance
i did not get it tune for power but i also used it for the cooling effect
and when using it i could touch the intake manifold after a run before it the intake manifold was so hot i could cook an egg on it

i still have every thing wired up and think i may use it with my turbo kit

i had a single bung weild onto the intake just before the elbow
and in the cockpit i had a switch to turn the system on and off with an led indicator for when i was getting low on fluid

Did you see any change in oil or water temps with it?

I can't imagine it having a dramatic effect on anything but IATs.

Hmmm...I would have thought taking the heat out of the intake would effect all of them. Either way less heat is a good thing.

^^ definitely. Air is not very effective at heat transfer (especially when compared to water/coolant or oil) without some type of heat sink.

But wouldn't any heat taken out of the cylinders by the meth be heat that doesn't end up in the water or oil?

Maybe a bit, but I would thnk most of that heat leaves with the exhaust anyway. The Stillen kit seems to have an IAT issue, not coolant or oil. If you've got an issue with one of those, I'd address it with a radiator or oil cooler. Have the fans kick on earlier through Uprev. Meth/water is for IATs and knock resistance.

I don't think I have a heat problem but it hasn't been on the track since the supercharger was installed so I'm nervous about it. I have a oil cooler, lowered when the fan comes on and added a Carbon Creations vented hood already so hopefully that is enough to keep it cool!
