That sounds all daunting if not outright scary.
It's hard for me to belive a company would take my money in January if they already knew they can never deliver. It's like on one of the Southpark episodes on Economy crash.

No idea how I'd go about a claim from the U.K.

I'd assume you would start by calling your credit card company. GTM had to take your money in January. They had refunds to pay and needed the cash. You need to get an exit strategy.

It's wild to think his money may have paid for my charger from Rotrex

I paid with PayPal, I know they only cover for 2 months.
But no harm in contacting PayPal anyway

Ouch. There was no way that was ever going to be good. Cal GTM. Call Paypal. Start making noise.

If its with paypal and its under nondelievery they will ask GTM for a tracking number, if not supplied you will get your money back.

Correct but there are time constraints that the Credit card companies and Paypal use. might be 60 or 90 days.

This may not help people currently, but going forward make sure anytime you make a purchase through PayPal use a credit card. They will recommend you don't since they don't want to pay the fees, but it might bite you in the *** down the road if you don't.

I once got scammed on eBay a while back and paid via PayPal along with my American Express. Same thing, empty promises to the point it was too late to open a dispute through PayPal because I fell outside the claim window. It was a reputable vendor at the time that I purchased from before without issue. I figured they weren't going to start scamming people, but apparently they had major financial issues and were digging a hole deeper and deeper. PayPal told me f*ck off as they couldn't do anything, but I went through American express who went after PayPal. Mind you this was over 6 months later. I ended up getting my money back within 2 days along with an apology.

Summary, this is deja vu.

Weird. I had someone build me a custom PC and took them 3 months to build still never got it after 1/2 a year. Called paypal and paypal refunded me my money.

They do have the time constraints, but recently paypal contacted me about a douche camaro customer who stole a set of cores from me. After he got repeatedly banned from the camaro forums, he filed a fraud complaint with paypal 5 months after the transaction saying he never got the product. I had to show proof of delivery, which I of course had, he had even signed for the package and UPS kept that on file.

It was settled in my favor, but they did come after me even though the time limits had expired. I think if its fraud or non-delivery, they will help you out.
