The torque on this kit is going to require a hell of a stout autotrans....that will be a friggen insane ride when its out and "raping apes".

I hope it works out as i am seriously thinking about this kit on my 7AT.

So I am officially driving my Z and I gotta say I love the way this kit feels. I gotta say thanks to Tony and everyone else at FI for making such a sick kit for the car guys. I'm gonna put some more miles on it and then I'll give you guys a full right up and some vids.

Tony I'll shoot you a call a little later this afternoon brotha.

Are you running that kind of power all the time?

Looks like we have another to add to the FI finished builds list.

No. The car stays on 11psi but to be honest with you, my tuner, myself and I'm sure tony would tell you these cars are making that power without any kind of issues, didn't blow an inch of smoke or anything. I would say it can still has more in it but I'm ok with that for now.

Don't take this as throwing stones. I'm sure it's a hell of a lot of fun to drive.

It's the torque that concerns me. It doesn't have to be showing any signs of running poorly to bend a rod. That's just a huge jump in torque. It really seems like the FI guys are pushing the envelope as far as stock block power, which is great until it isn't.

It absolutely shows the potential of the kit, but the torque levels just seem much higher than I would feel comfortable with on a stock block.

I purposely had my tq tuned down for longevity concerns. Will have to keep an eye on this thread to see how the motor holds up at these to levels.

I just think anyone running north of 600whp on the stock block forfeits the ability to say "X kit blew my motor" if it pops. The kit didn't kill your motor, the 600+whp did

I do think it's cool we've got a lot of guys who want to push things and find out where the limit is on the stock componants. That's what drives progress.

Yep. Could not agree more Chuck. I know that I am only going to inch my way up to 14 psi slowly. I am putting together something built, but again slowly. I want this stock block to:

*last as long as possible(at least until the built block is on a stand somehweres), so I can get the greatest amount of data/fun out of it as possible
*give us an idea where stock internals can go with appropriate fuel, tune, cooling and kit
*identify at any point where VVEL shuts down this kit(it hasn't yet)
*Be built into a barbecue or tablestand when it does pop..lol

At the moment I know I am running at 10ish psi on the street, I have taken it to 11,
but I will save that for later. Taking it slow is the only way to iron out any wrinkles, fix them and proceed.

So far it has been smooth sailing, I have been kicking this car in the ***, it has been up to task.

Oh yeah, I am sure alot of us guys on this kit are looking to redefine the stock vq37 name. It really is a force to be reckoned with.

Only time will tell. I won't be too sad when/if this thing blows, a med comp med-hi boost 900hp build sounds like fun.

Honestly at that power level you better hope it somehow just bends a rod and doesnt grenade. If it grenades you can say goodbye to the turbos as well as the block

I wont lie though, I would run 630rwhp if I had it

is that dyno above on pump 91?

I love the fact that the main complaint/knock on this kit is "It just makes too damn much power".

These are awesome numbers for a TT engine with such low boost! Congrats!! RB engines with a huge single turbo are having to push 30+psi for similar power levels.

I would be starting to worry a little about these things turning into Dyno queens however. Is anyone managing to get this kind of power to the ground successfully?

Having huge HP is fun but a little pointless when you will be destoyed in a straight line by something with awd and 400hp (read Evo, STI, GTR). I hope that we start to see more 0-60 and 1/4 mile times being worked on with the VQ engines at high HP. Now that we know that big HP is possible, someone needs to spend some time and $$$ figuring out how to make it more useable!
