You still may end up needing different maf piping and injectors. There's very little room to grow with the Stillen kit. Also, anmvq was AWD, so it had a lot

Also, anmvq was AWD, so it had a lot more drivetrain loss.

Doesn't the stillen kit come with 600cc injectors? I wouldn't be surprised about needing bigger MAF tubes but I was always under the impression injector size was just fine for the 9psi pulley.

Looking forward to seeing your upgrades and new number.

Was pretty sure that it was CCW but needed it confirmed. Stillen had sent me the link to 928motorsports when I asked about the impeller upgrade- But 928motorsports is a Porsche site and they didn't have or needed the specifics for the Z. The cost for the impeller and SC'r rebuild through them will be close to $900. They have about a 1 week turnaround from the time they receive the SC'r till the time it is shipped back. The speed shop (Broadway-Performance) that is doing the work here is in contact with them - and will determine the feasibility of sending it out to them or doing the upgrade in house. Hoping for 50+ whp gain with the Stillen 9lb pulley and impeller upgrade. Still have't heard from Vortech ... gotta try again Bob |

That's up to the shop and their workload if they will be doing a dyno before the upgrades. It's a small but friendly shop and they do have a lot of cars currently in progress. The dyno takes up a full bay...they have to move cars around to set up to do the dyno...soooo if I don't hit dyno day before they start to dig in to it - it probably won't get done. Now about those HP expectations...They have the final say as to how far they will to go with it. The Standing Order of the Day is to keep the car safe and reliable...in spite of what I say I think I want ! The guys in the shop are really good about that...And they've talked me down from the clouds a few times. (No ![]() That keeps me as a satisfied customer. So far we are shooting for about 475rwhp. We'll see how close it actually comes to that ... and at what rpm it makes power. But the bigger picture here is not all about the numbers, but how fast it goes down the track...and there are a lot of other factors involved to make it all come together. Will keep you posted ... Mine was right around 300 with the canned tune and blew huge and fast black smoke rings 30 feet when he let off the gas on the dyno. I forgot his car wasn't tuned. I was asking to see what the upgrades did but your right, without a tune it would be useless.

Sorry I haven't posted here in a bit. Wasn't really interested in some of the bashing, those of you whom didn't do that I thank you.
Update: Afterworking with Stillen, (Dave!! thank you!!) and Lamb Nissan, we found out and figured out why the AFR was all over the place, they forgot to install part of the air deflector for the intake. Once that was put on, the car started to drive 100% better, and now the tunes are getting better and better. As far as the people who say the kit is junk, or not worth it. To each their own. For my driving style, and end goal this kit is perfect. The car has 4k miles on it before I got the kit, now has 6k (lots of 3rd gear pulls.. lol) And yes the warranty option with the purchase did help me sway my choice. If you want to get totally balls deep into a 370z build, then pull your engine, and go to town with a twin turbo and lots of tuning time. If you want long term support, and a safer build with consistent power and less worries, the Super Charger hands down is the way to go. I've had nothing but fun with it, and have not one second guessing of buying the kit. - Tim |
