Just got off the phone with bobby at S&r and he talked to the guys at CP. They told him they could make me the pistons 10.1 for $1000 and if more were interested that it would be less money. Phunk I am not trying to step on your toes here but trying to get me motor up asap. He is supposed to be calling me back since I told him 3 others were interested on a price for 4 of us.

my set of wiseco 10:1 cost about 650 through Z1, but I did warn you s&r's build price sounded high. these are also the guys who told you that 10:1 "didn't exist"

Ya sounds messy, I would just let me handle it... its only going to get confusing having 2 group buys for the same exact part.

That's fine with me. I will just have him hold off on the build and have you ship my pistons to s&r? Besides it is cheaper and every little bit helps.. Thanks again phunk. Can send the money anytime, just shoot me your pp address.

Cheers to all and hope everyone has a Great Thanksgiving,
Harry

cosmo I just updated the GB thread... pricing has unfortunately changed. Its still less than your quote, but sucks, I really liked the last price. If I get the order in next week, they said it will take 4-5 weeks to make the pistons. So lets see if everyone else is still on board, and if so I can place the order.

What was the wait time on the wiseco 10:1 pistons because I may go that route if I can get them right away. If the wait time is the same as cp I will go with cp..

Alright as of today I ordered a long block from VSR out of tampa with custom 10.1 CP pistons, ARP Head Studs (85ft lbs) and a cryogenic treatment of most everything. Have to wait 4 weeks on the pistons and roughly another 2 weeks for the build. Also need a DW65A fuel pump since the one that gtm provides (walbro 255)is only good for around 5oowhp and also need some 1000cc injectors. The 255 may actually work with the larger injectors but why chance it..
tibal and fuct like this.

What kind of rods? Did you get the coatings on the pistons?

Good call on the fuel pump, it's too cheap to not do.

K1 rods... They said the pistons didn't need it because of the material. Those cp pistons are supposed to be bad to the bone...

Wierd. Who said that? CP or the shop? CP offers the coatings if they're the same pistons as the ones phunk is having made.
