That still seems like a lot of shavings. I would send in a sample to Blackstone for sure.

I just ordered the black stone oil kit..

If you've already changed the oil you'll have to give it some more mileage and test the next batch. Even if you kept the oil from this change, it's likely contaminated from the container it was kept in.

:iagree: the directions are specific about sample collection

Stay tuned, when I do my next oil change that oil will be sent to blackstone and I will post the results...

Just checking in .. I received my blackstone kit in yesterday and going to put a little more miles on this fresh oil before I do another change. So far so good with the engine..

At this point it seems to be burning oil every time I take it out. I'm still using the Nissan 5-30 ester oil and now right at about 1500k miles. Been thinking maybe its getting some blow by coming from the valve cover breather since it recirculates but after taking off the intake tubes and intercooler piping it is bone dry with no oil residue.. The car is now hitting 18psi...

What was the max psi when Bobby was tuning it? I wouldn't run a single psi over what it saw on the dyno since they wouldn't have had a chance to dial everything in at that boost pressure.

The burning oil is a concern, but maybe it will go away as the motor breaks in further. Sometimes new motors eat oil. I've got my fingers crossed.

Try Rotella Syn 5W-40 see if the thicker oil helps you

COSMO 10-13-2014 07:55 AM

Yeah I spoke with bobby yesterday and that's what he recommended was going to a thicker 5-40 weight after it breaks in.. I noticed on the bp kit that you guys have a crank case breather and not sure about FI's kit but later I may do the same..

I don't recommend changing the way the PCV systems is routed. The majority of us that have that secondary PCV vented to atmosphere link it to the stumbling idle. I know the AAM kit is routed just like GTMs and I would venture to guess Tony did the same on their kit.

COSMO 10-13-2014 09:11 AM

I definitely don't want any idle issues so I wont be doing anything to that.. Thanks for the heads up..

COSMO 10-24-2014 11:25 AM

Switched to motul 5-40 today and just sent off a sample to Blackstone.. Stay tuned!!

MidnightBlueZ 10-25-2014 11:40 AM

Hoping the results are favorable! That's some good oil btw!

COSMO 10-28-2014 05:55 PM

My blackstone oil results came back today. Can anyone tell me how I can mark out my personal information on the report? The report in in a pdf format.. As soon as I figure out how to do that I will post it up..
