CP 10.1, 96mm pistons..
Compliments from bryan..

JARblue 03-18-2016 08:01 AM

Good luck continuing forward. You definitely deserve a finished build thread - can't wait to see it

COSMO 03-21-2016 02:28 PM

Check it out, bryan hard at work....

COSMO 03-26-2016 12:06 PM

Just got word my engine bore and acid dip is Done!!!! Stay tuned for pics.. Had my injectors sent to FIC to be checked and cleaned and they checked out just fine. Bobby even tried to say the reason why my engine blew could have been due to a leaky injector, in his words {AN ACT OF GOD). Can't begin to tell you how many times god has spoken to bobbys work... lol

COSMO 03-26-2016 09:09 PM

Also forgot to mention everything balanced and cranked polished by bryan.. Going to go ahead and order new rings and bearings before the assembly..

COSMO 03-29-2016 01:32 PM

Need some feedback on the os giken twin disk. I'm looking at 2 options, one that is dampened and one that isn't. Both are twin disk.. Is the dampened worth the extra $400-$500?

I have the grand touring twin disk. It's much better than my old 6 puck. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy the same clutch.

I have the twin disc dampened ...
It is a little noisy...and takes a little getting used to.
You will also need the correct adapters to make it work.
You'll also need the RJM clutch pedal assembly as well to get any kind of normal adjustment out of it.
Hope this helps.

COSMO 03-29-2016 05:44 PM

Wow didn't know there were other parts needed for this clutch.. Thanks for the info..

javi370z 03-29-2016 07:10 PM

I have the dampened twin disc. TR2CD. Still really noisy. Grabs well with the stock pedal. But you need the adapter for the slave cylinder

COSMO 03-29-2016 08:37 PM

I'm guessing os giken sells this adapter? part #?

javi370z 03-29-2016 08:54 PM

I actually got it from zspeed when i got the HD csc

zguynate 03-29-2016 09:11 PM

Yeah you can order it from ZSpeed. It's just a metal sleeve that fits over the throw out bearing to keep the slave cylinder from extending too far and past the seals.

COSMO 03-29-2016 09:26 PM

Oh ok cool, I already have the HD CSC..

tonyHTX 03-30-2016 10:26 AM

I actually just ordered the sleeve and a CSC rebuild kit from Joe @ Zspeed!

My clutch started slipping TX2K week and I am just now getting around to ordering an OS Giken triple as I was told the twin wouldn't hold for long either. Unfortunately a friend beat me to the punch and got the last one in the USA so I have to wait weeks for one to come from Japan...

He doesn't sound like a good friend to me. I hope he's not on your top 8 friends on Myspace.

COSMO 03-30-2016 01:04 PM

What gets me is trying to get the tq ratings on the os giken clutches. It's like pulling teeth but I think at this point it would be safe to go ahead with the triple..

Yeah I've heard and read things from some saying twin will hold for thousands of miles to some saying if it does it won't hold long. Seems the general area for twin is ~700 and triple is 1000+.

This is going to be my 3rd clutch in less than a year so I went for the triple as I don't want to have to do a 4th replacement in the short term.

jwick 03-31-2016 10:56 AM

Driving that triple is going to suck

bullitt5897 03-31-2016 10:58 AM

Triple does suck but you get used to it

COSMO 03-31-2016 11:03 AM

I've considered a ACT 6 puck..

COSMO 03-31-2016 02:08 PM

One things for sure I have never gotten so many home projects accomplished during this ordeal. The wife is happy...

bullitt5897 03-31-2016 11:39 PM

Seriously if your going big power go os giken or have tilton make you a clutch.... I have had several tt Zs and Gs. The OS Gikens are the only ones able to hold the power... Double clutch if your under 800ft lbs and triple if your going over that. No need to go quad plate...

Here is a pic of my new block about to be assembled ..

COSMO 04-01-2016 05:13 PM

Btw I have made my decision of the os giken twin clutch so thanks again for the feedback... I have upmost faith in bryan (BBR) will build my motor correctly this time around and I know it wont be 8 months until it is completed like the time before.. Will post up more pics as they come in..

roplusbee 04-01-2016 05:40 PM

My Competition Clutch (Twin Disk) is the organic disk material and rated at 750 lb/ft torque. Sad thing is that there were only a few units produced. Heck, mine doesn't even have part numbers on it...........

COSMO 04-01-2016 07:44 PM

Going to stick with os giken twin disk for now but thanks... Can't wait to get my baby back..

Streetz 04-02-2016 01:49 PM

I Have the southbend stage 4 extream and it's pretty good. Its been holding over 700ftlbs on my 350z for over 10k miles. Drives really nice also. I never looked to see if they offer a clutch for the 370z but I bet they do. The best part is the clutch is only 600$ flywheel was like 3-400.

I can honestly say I'm feeling the love so I must be doing something right... Have no intensions of chasing the Big Boys here btw.

I would loveeee to know the ignorant f@ck who sent you this pm Cosmo... I'm at 855whp on K1 rods and have had zero issues with them... Soon to be chasing more. Even after hydro locking the block twice due to blown head gaskets. Sounds to me like someone's a little @$$ chapped that they had to spend exuberant amounts on rods and Pistons for no reason.

P.S. I AM chasing the big boys, and if said individual wants to contest me about the quality of wiseco's products (or cosmos build for that matter)you can surely bring your "little fish" @$$ out and speak up!

COSMO 04-02-2016 08:13 PM

I agree with you on the ignorant f@ck but I really don't want this thread shut down due to some tool who has actually spent an exuberant of money for his alter ego.. Would love to see your build and specs though. The K1 rods are very good rods in my opinion too..

Elmo370z 04-03-2016 01:26 AM

**** cosmo i want to go for a ride

Rid3_FaM0uS 04-04-2016 01:13 PM

I totally agree Cosmo which it's cool I just don't understand how people can be so shallow minded. If there's anything I hate the most about the upper echelon of the Z community it's that it ALWAYS feels like a huge d!ck measuring contest. No one is genuinely proud for new competition.
It's all in my build journal buddy! I haven't updated in a longggg time because it felt like this forum was getting kinda dead, but I think I'll wrap up the thread as well as attaching dyno sheets/close out comments etc after the final tune to gas out this turbo kit the second week of June.

Just wanted to post up some pics of my built motor from bobby. Upon delivery I had it shipped back. This kind of work is acceptable to him. I can't imagine what the bottom end looked like...

That's flat nasty. I wouldn't be sure about them touching anything if they didn't have enough pride to at least clean up the stuff you can see.

Bobby is worthless. I've said for years I'd just soon set fire to my car then let that ******* touch it.

COSMO 04-12-2016 05:10 PM

Can't wait to bust past 800whp on the stock plenum. lol Can't help but to see these other intakes coming out with No r&d but ready to sell. Lets ask ourselves would they really post up losses considering you got a product for free. lol To this day nothing but bs excuses and no hard numbers. INCREDIBLE>>>

Chuck33079 04-12-2016 06:12 PM

Well, sometimes it all works out and early adopters get rewarded. Personally I wouldn't buy so much as a pack of gum before I see real world feedback, but it's not a given that it won't work out. I just don't have that much faith in the aftermarket.

COSMO 04-12-2016 07:11 PM

I think new products should Always have independent reviews from people who actually paid for the products. It keep things honest...
