Ok so who knows how the a/c lines disconnect or is there an easy disconnect on the 370z? When I did the motor on my 350z I had to take it somewhere to have the line redone is the only reason I ask...

If you're still working on it this evening I can take a look. There's got to be an easy way to take them off.

Well today was a good day, I have a few more options on the table. One being a long block out of a g37 with only 10k miles. I contacted s&r out of tampa to build it but he couldn't find pistons in a 10.1 compression. I worry that a 9.1 comp will make it laggy... Any thoughts. Keep in mind Iam looking boosting around 16psi.

My engine builder here in San Antonio runs a performance shop and is also a Certified Master Infiniti Technician. He HIGHLY recommends using CP Pistons for his GTR or VQ builds. He told me to go with a standard bore 10:1 or 9:5.1. I chose the latter. I asked him why not .20 oversized, he told me that he has built hundreds of blocks while at Infiniti and there was not one that needed to go with overbore pistons. He also mentioned of how thin the VQ sleeves already were in stock form. My 9:5.1 pistons are custom made from CP and purchased through Kyle at IPP. If SA, Texas isn't too far from you, I highly recommend my builder.

I would have CP custom make you pistons in 10:1. I tried to organize a group buy for this a few months back, but almost nobody was ready for that yet. I was planning to reintroduce it in December or January to see if anyone was ready. If theres enough guys ready to go right now, I can set it up.. the pricing was really good if we could get 7 guys. 5 more after you and I I had a thread about it: Feeler: CP Pistons, Medium Comp, 10:1

10:1 is the lowest I would personally go.

The thing is with standard bore piston, is that you dont always get control over your piston to wall clearance. Last time I ever tried a stock bore piston, it was 2004 or 2005 and a customer dropped off his 350z with some pistons he already purchased. Turned out they were already smaller than the recommended piston to wall clearance. We tried it anyway and it sounded like a diesel truck. I was so bothered by it that I refused to give the car back like that, and I rebuilt the engine again out of pocket and sent the pistons out for ceramic coating. This added enough size that we were able to set the piston to wall clearance proper. Problem solved. Car still runs to this day but I will personally never chance it with standard bore pistons again.

It looks like it. Tomorrow I will try and get it all arranged with CP along with attempting to get an accurate ETA to their construction. Then I will post back to that thread and confirm with everyone interested. We should be able to sort it out within a couple days.

I will let you know what they say. I believe its generally 6-8 weeks for custom pistons though... so if you are in an immediate rush it might not pan out quickly enough

I thought the 9.0:1 CR pistons from Wiseco would be 'soft'. Not at all. Impressively powered low and midrange. The VVEL has so much influence that the CR was a non factor.

My input.
