What do you mean? why bring Jon in this. Jon would say that to my face. I am weird. I have wild views of all sorts. To those that know me that's no secert. I'm either extremely liked or disliked. It's hard to judge threw a forum of who we are. But I'm not going to put gravey on anything. I call it as is. For you to to say you found a mistake obviously points out you had the boost controller routed wrong. $hit happens.

On my 370z I went with the gtm stage II TT kit and wanted to just stay with the stock block due to saving to buy another house. I installed the kit myself and took a lot of time doing the install so their were no mistakes. The car has ran great since the install with zero problems to speak of. To be honest the only thing I can think of is when I bought a boost controller I was having boost issues. The car was hitting 20psi of boost until I found the problem. Again no signs of any issues or noises. I drove the car to dallas and back for the clutch install and last weekend took a trip to the mountains with zero problems. At this point my guess is that when the car was overboosting is must have weakend one of the rods and when john from z1 was tuning it finally gave. I will post pictures but it looks like cylinder #5. To any of you guys about to go FI you better have some dough ready for when this kinda thing may happen. These engine are strong from the factory but are not made for boost. I do not blame Z1 for what happened and do not blame anyone. Its tough to watch your car blow a motor but the way I look at it there are a lot more things in this world to have to worry about like health issues in such. John from z1 is going to work me up a price for a short block and after everything is re-built I do plan on going back to z1 for another tune. My goal now is to shoot for 600whp since I have the stage II kit so I will need some advice from you guys who have actually tested those waters.
Thanks again for the help and kind words.. And spohn I still just don't know about you and john from z1 agrees your one odd cat. lol pics very soon!!!

This just teaches everyone that they should buy a very good boost controller.

Or install it correctly. No pun intended. Hard lesson. But Cosmo will come back stronger.

20 lbs of boost? Helluva ride! At least we know stage 2 turbos can push that!
I'm also interested in seeing what a built block with stage 2 turbos can do.

Good luck with the rebuild! Keep us updated!

You can always buy this guy's long block and maybe beef it up with some new internals (ignore the thread title, there's actually an engine in there too LOL) : 2013 7 speed auto transmission for sale

I also learned with the stock engine it has a threshold of power (550whp?) which the lower end can't withstand, yet the pistons will (Unlike Subaru's).

Keep your chin up. All boosted VHR engines are a liability, no matter how we wish.

The stage 2's will give you 20psi but they will be spinning WAY too fast while they are doing it lucky one didn't grenade

WOW. That's interesting. Any of you running gauges with alarm settings? I have my boost alarm set to 10 PSI since I around 9-9.5 PSI tops. My gauge is off by 2 PSI, so I'm going to adjust it again to be safe.

Mmmm. H-Beam rods, decent pistons, good head gasket and bolts. Hopefully the crank is and heads are ok. Buying a new short block sucks. I need to get one now at a deal. Should build this bitch now and stop being stupid. Won't have my next years budget for a month.
