Similar to your situation, that hot air makes it in behind my dash. I am a big fan of the center exit louvres, but only on dated pieces. I.E. VIS Racing Hoods for older S13s and GT-Rs. That is one that I would not ponder over and pull the trigger. As long as the vent is far enough forward of course.

I was possibly considering this hood. Thoughts on this venting pattern for FI?

Seibon has a similar one. It might work well. I'd go with seibon over Duraflex any day. Duraflex stuff fits like ****.

I haven't heard the best things about Seibon fitment either. Several pics I have seen on here suggest much larger than OEM gaps.

I have had several seibon products over the years and they have all had merely acceptable fit. Gaps are generally much larger, and any time there is a surface that curls in, they over curl... Hard to explain, but basically at the front corners of the hoods they curl it too much and it requires a lot of force to close and makes an underbite with the front bumper.. and on the hatches they curl in by the rear 1/4 windows and touch the seals and look a little weird.

Overall I don't mind the fit... But I would never paint the parts because of it.

Ah, How i missed this thread?

I was in same situation after i installed the TT kit, I had heat issue and it was seriously annoying so started with venting the hood.

I really didnt like any of aftermarket hood supplied to G37 coupe. so I had to steal a design from another world, BMW for instance.

After countess of hours research and see what fits taste I end up with vorsteiner hood for bmw 3 series.

And it all started from here (excuse my noob Photoshop lol)

Tada! Its not exactly what I wanted but looks similar atleast.

The funny part is the company that made my hood now calls it type s version 1 g37 hood (or what ever its called now) and sells it as their design without a single permission

After all this hood really works and looks good. Im sorry Vorsteiner for stealing the design but i had to do it due the lack of body kit available for G37 coupe

And it's still better than Duraflex.

[OFFTOPIC] I think the IPL bumper will compliment the modded hood. [/OFFTOPIC]

Hey this looks nice and unobtrusive but based on what we've talked about in this thread so far, I dunno if it'd be functional:

Thanks for the info I was about to order one and paint it. Now I have to decide if I can live with a CF hood or not.
