blah blah blah, if nitrous is done safe its not a big deal. its the idiots that strap on a huge shot on a stock motor, install the kit half ***, no pressure gauge, with crap A:F ratios, and spray at 2k on half throttle that have issues.

its like anything. some people swear buy it and love it, some people hate it and think its the worst thing ever.

cnbc for car info? come on now.....

Boosted Performance 10-23-2013 08:52 AM

That was the least informative video/article on any performance mod I have ever seen. Not one technical reference as to why it is such a horrible thing to do to your car.

I would never put it on any of my cars, but that is due to me not wanting to fill bottles all the time. It is annoying...I prefer turbo much more, because it is always there, ready to go.

Not quite the reaction u were hoping for eh Dzel??

Wow! That rivals some of NBC's political stories for pure unadulterated uninformery! Next up, let's get The View's opinion of the physics involved in Space Travel!

Nissan370 10-23-2013 10:50 AM

that was wack
if setup right you can run nos safely

always have some kinda control unit to prevent spraying pass redline or below 3k
get the car tuned for nos you want to retard the timing on nos cars
dont spray more then your car can handle
know the difference between dry and wet systems
and always check your plugs they will let you know how the motor is holding up

a health motor and a fair shot of nos can be a mean, cheap combo ask the v8 guys

in comic book terms a
boosted car = superman
a nos car =the hulk

nitrous is bad for an engine in the same way that forced induction is bad for the engine. increased torque puts extra stress on internals not designed for those power levels (stock). if this is "news" to anyone, you don't understand engines.

megalapagas 10-23-2013 12:04 PM

TURRBO POWWAA!!....."Pssshhh!". IMHO in comes to to prefference and of course like anything you need your supporting mods otherwise ppl go Ka-Boom and start making Myths lmao. Short and Simple Pick Your Poison Guys/Gals :driving::tiphat:

Yeah, nitrous is not safe.

But if you use a supercharger you engine will run for ever regardless the size.

:icon18: No it wasn't and at my own fault because I didn't watch it in it's entirerty. All I was trying to say is that most "kids" run nitrous because it's a cheaper way to go and abuse it "ricer" style. Don't get me wrong if you build your motor for nitrous and have a proper set up you can make some really great numbers. I was just trying to point out that most people abuse this and never go that route. Like Lothatrio stated.

i wouldnt even go as far to say you have to build the motor, just get a proper setup and it should be fine on a stock motor(except if your motor cant handle any FI whatsoever, then you have to build it out anyways)

i dont like how these guys are saying n2o is fake hp, it isnt, its temporary but there is nothing fake about the hp gains

Just so u guys know I have been running nitrous for over a year with zero issues . I did spend a lot to make sure it runs and sprays correctly . I also have not built my engine and drive my car hard as well .. I do see a lot more people popping their engines going the SC or Turbo route versus Nitrous .

TerribleONE 10-23-2013 02:37 PM

IMO there is no denying that nitrous is a great option for those who dont mind filling bottles all the time and are looking to save some money over going TT or SC.. as Boosted Performance said I wouldnt run it on my car.. but again that is just because I dont want to have to deal with getting the bottle filled.
