I would believe it would need to be retuned based on the info I have read

Water and meth injection is a science in itself beyond just tuning for FI. You're going to have to decide what ratio you want to run because it'll determine how much timing, if any, will be pulled at what rpm for instance. It would be good to have a thorough understanding of meth injection before tuning for it.

Well, you could but it wouldn't make sense IMO. You have to understand the fundamentals first. It's akin to slapping in 1000cc injectors and expecting instant HP gains.

Just do a little research on what water does and what meth does and then ask yourself what you want out of it. That's really the starting point. Do you want a denser charge for more power or do you want a cooler charge to mitigate timing retardation under boost (prevent detonation). Are you just wanting to run low octane fuel in your FI'd motor?

What size nozzle(s) are you going to run and where? Pre SC or directly into the intake mani? I don't have any answers for you, just saying that a good tune in an FI'd system is already sophistacted balance of variables. Then you add water/meth injection along with its computer (probably just MAF based too) and that's a whole other set of variables to calculate.

I'm not trying to sound discouraging because water/meth injection is very cool, no pun intended, when it's done right. Systems have evolved pretty well nowadays but it's still not a plug-n-play proposition. I guess this is the verbose way of answering your original question. Yes, you will most definitely need to tune for it but you must first understand what it is and decide which goal you want from the start.

BTW, slightly off topic but related: I don't see much talk about knock lights in all these FI'd systems but I think they're essential if your goal is to eliminate detonation to begin with.

Cool well thanks for the info man looks like I just might have to take it down to uprev and have them tune it.

I don't think you fully understand what your getting, or getting yourself into. You do HAVE to tune the car again if you are getting a meth kit installed. You can't just install it and expect it to be fine under full boost. You're going to do more harm then good. That's like asking if you need a tune once you install a FI kit.

i run mine with out a tune and its fine
it will help keep your intake charge temp down i am using 80% water 20% meth atm because the car is not tuned for the meth

once the car is tuned for water/meth timing is added at that point you dont want to run the car hard and run out of the spray that could kill the motor

but yes with out it being tuned your not going to get the most out of water/meth
but if your running it with mostly water its more of a coolant then anything

No differents in power because like I side that would involved advancing timing
But I did notice the intake was a little cooler to the touch then running with it off on hot days
My setup only sprays under load 3 or more lbs of boost

Just remember water absorbs heat there for reducing intake air temp.
And meth increase detonation threshold ie acts like an octane booster

My advice for people keeping the Stillen kit upgrade the size of your coolant tank for the supercharger.

This was after a short drive and its about 65 degs outside and I did not use the water/meth or drive in boost

I am trying out relocating the battery and using the battery box to install a large water reservoir. The reservoir will not be in the engine bay and will have ventilation this should help keep the container cooler. Stillen puts thick plastic piece in the engine bay. As hot as our motors run relocating it is a win, win.

Got the methanol installed its seems to be running pretty good especially at higher rpm. Looks cool at night when it blows fire balls out the back.
