Looks great...but nobody will be able to see it.

Most likely. There is a grill in the G that doesn't exist on the Z so it might show but it'll be off to the side and you'll really have to look for it.

In preparing for a turbo kit I dropped the tranny this weekend to install my Southbend Stage 3 clutch and CSC. I know a lot of people in this thread are BP customers and therefore are able to do this themselves. I have also read about the "DEMON" bolts which attach the cats to the exhaust manifolds. I was going to button the car back up and drop her back off the stands in order to get some mileage on my clutch so after the turbo I can give her hell.

However, after seeing how easy the demon bolts were to get at with the tranny out of the way I decided to just take my cats off and let her sit as a statue until I install the kit. I pre-soaked the bolts with PB blaster overnight and attacked them the next morning.

I have NO idea how guys are doing this with having such a limited space. I do only have 10k on my car but its an 09 so 5 years of corrosion contributed to the demonicizing.

HERE IS WHAT HAPPENED!! Yup that's not 1 but 2 broken sockets. Had to go get an HD set with the thick sidewalls. These are craftsmen too with a lifetime warranty.

First step, Don't buy craftsman tools, Buy good tools like Mac, Snap-on, Matco ect. Craftsman are Chinese crap about the same quality as harbor freight tools anymore.

We find it easier to attack these from the top, after removing the intake boxes, with a long 1/2" drive extension, 1/2" breaker bar or if you have available a hefty 3/4" impact gun.

I agree with this. From the top, the bolts are a cakewalk. I used Harbor Freight 1/2" drive impact sockets and extensions with a 30" breaker bar. Once I had the intakes off, it took no more than 20 minutes.

Hey Joe,thanks for your help with my clutch/flywheel and eboost controller. not often a vendor calls you on a Sunday to straighten out some shipping questions.

and right on with the tools, though i shouldnt have a problem since ive already removed the stock cats for FI ones.

Now that the clutch kit is on the way im planning to move my build up to the 28th.

Joe is great, just heard a box of goodies is sitting at the house from him! Also agree 10x, I got the demon bolt from the top as well, I was expecting a fight but with 1/2" drive, done deal, just make sure the socket is seated on the bolt or it will not be a desirable outcome, I cheat tho, I have 13 technician tool boxes at my disposal.

You suck. Now I have to drool over your build thread while still waiting to start mine.

I did get the clutch installed last Thursday. The damn thing is STOUT but it left the factory engagement points the same, so ALL in ALL I call it a win. Not like I expected a pressure plate good for over 500ft-lbs was going to be easy on the leg in the first place.
