can't wait. I really think you should hold the record for highest HP on stock block. Unless someone has the cajones to push the limits.

Ouch, lucky you are...makes me want to get my failsafe gauge setup with an external relay to the solenoid...what kind of controller?

Mitco39 05-09-2014 04:46 PM

My car did a similar thing when one of the lines going to the wastegate came off. It sounded very very angry and filled the shop with black smoke. I thought for sure it was a goner.

I really think these engines can hold alot more than guys are pushing (given you got a good fuel running through them). The few blow ups on here have usually be attributed to other things (over revving, low fuel pressure ect).

He's on pump gas I believe and yes that is the highest by far. I had 500 tq at 12 lbs. Wow 630!

You mean 680.

Joepro 05-09-2014 05:42 PM

I have checked my lines several times because of how close they are to the exhaust, so far so good, that silicone is pretty tough. I thought about getting small clamps to go on all the connections...might do that after Carlisle next week. I hate that exhaust wrap stuff but I might do the manifold just to be safe...

You can never do enough heat management. I wrapped the pipe and wrapped all vacuum lines in thermo-tec

Want to know what happens when a boost controller goes bad on a dyno?

You get 19.5 lbs of boost and 680 torque to the wheels at 4000 rpm. :ugh2:

Good news is my engine is still in one piece!

So after I ripped that out we made 465whp and 430tq on 9lb wastegate springs. Probably going to be putting the 11lb springs in this weekend then going back to break 500.

Wow talk about glory dyno pull glad the the motor is still in one piece that is a hell of a lot of boost for a stock motor.

What was the WHP number at that boost level. ?

Geez scary, but cool that it survived and you have a bad *** dyno graph to show off lol

I figured you had a faulty mbc from our conversation. Did you do a compression test?

Nope E85. Presumably. A guy there with a gtr has an ethanol content analyzer and the highest he has found around Denver is 68%. We actually picked up slight knock at 17 degrees timing at 475hp and 5k rev.

But the stupid thing is we didnt see any at 19.7 lbs of boost. Crazy.

No compression test done. It sounded so smooth after the new injectors I wasn't worried.

Here it is. This is on a mustang and ive always used dj numbers as a standard. So 570 X .15 = 655. Sorry. Not 680 but there were lots of numbers going around today.

Dude that picture is horrible...makes me think I have glaucoma
