Not likely. I tried... several times. Unless you're some kind of metal pipe turbo whisperer, it's not going to happen.

Oh, I have a leak where the line connects to the oil reservoir on the turbo. I know someone else had an issue with one, it may have been that specific one. What did you do to fix it. I have already made sure it was really snug, and I don't really want to tighten it any more because i dont want to damage it. Should I try some thread paste? It MAY be leaking from the actual body of the an end rather than the threads, so idk what the heck to do lol.

I can send you a complete new line, just let me know.

Correct, that charge pipe has to go in from the front.

My leak was not that line, it was a different one, and it was leaking from the seal where the line goes into the fitting, it eventually went away after adjust the lines, also with these lines, make certain there is no pressure on them, or they will not seat and leak. As for the turbo, since I have hand it on and off several times now, make sure all the front charge pipes are installed, and I tighten all the clamps up front, this makes the charge pipes resist moving, then you can slide the turbo outlet into the coupler. There is not much, but there is room there to slide and twist the filter forward and put it on after. Just a suggestion, but in my head I could not figure out why the turbo outlet has a angle on it, it seems to me if it were straight many of these issues would go away, even after everything is mounted it still at an angle a in the coupler, at least mine is. If you want to change your trans fluid, do it BEFORE you put the manifold on! Everyone I have shown this kit to now installed is uberly impressed btw, Dyno on Friday!:happydance:

Correct. I do need the ECU part number, it can be retrieved through Osiris.

I only have haltech experience. So is there more of a step by step to this?

I agree. I too was thinking why is this thing angled?

jwick 04-06-2014 09:16 AM

Not really. Turn car on but don't start it. Have laptop turned on. Plug cable into laptop and odb2 port. Open Osiris. It'll detect ecu and the number will be in the on the left side of the window a few lines down. You can also open Cipher and when you tell it to connect to ECU it is shown in the pop up window.

So do I download cipher?

Gotcha. Thanks Sasha! Maybe that comes with the kit. Looks like mine was held up by customs an extra day so didn't make it here Friday. Monday for sure though.

Attempting the turbo alignment? That and the demon bolts were very frustrating for me.

blackonorange 04-06-2014 01:42 PM

I got the demon bolts no problem. 4ft extension and a good socket. Came off like butter.

blackonorange 04-06-2014 06:53 PM

Got the turbo aligned! I can do it with my eyes closed now haha

blackonorange 04-07-2014 10:49 PM

Hey, kind of a stupid question but is my car supposed to start without a base tune? I tries a couple times and it sputters and dies. I'm gonna send my ecu number to Sasha tomorrow so I guess it doesn't really matter... I just wanted to check for leaks

blackonorange 04-07-2014 10:50 PM

I faintly remember my z starting with 600cc injectors. Is 750 to much without a tune to run and idle ?
