My afr doesn't really have anything to due with running out fuel...even at wastegate pressure he took fuel out to make more power went from 10.2 @wot to 11.3 ish. I dont have data yet to say I am not but 11.5 at wot is the target afr, as boost declines it will slightly richen up, your too rich imo, I trust Vince if he felt the fuel system is an issue he would say im sure, call him he will lay this to rest with all the answers. I believe I am the 3rd bp kit he has tuned and rt does the base maps. Maybe I missed it what is,the concern? If you plan on running higher boost you need a built motor to be safe...or 1ks for e85. Vince said he was ok with 480 tq on these motors no higher...remember tq breaks stuff not hp.

Gale. It's the same filter for the GReddy relocation thermostat plate too.

:tiphat: I just bought one two days ago... That and I have a picture of the original oil filter box saved on my phone. My phone is my memory, I just have to remember what's saved on it. :p

I assumed it would be the same. Thanks for verifying.

I have a strange vibration in my gas pedal when accelerating. Its very defined and more like a fast rattle. I notice it is worse when turning to the right. It gets more prominent when going into boost also. This wasn't there until after the dyno.

Anybody have any ideas how this might have came about or what can be causing this?

Mitco39 05-13-2014 11:51 AM

Check the piping for rubbing anywhere along the frame.

Plasmite 05-13-2014 11:59 AM

I don't have the service manual on this computer. Isn't the throttle mostly electronic?

TopgunZ 05-13-2014 12:03 PM

It is electronic but there is still a mechanism to attach it to the vehicle. I haven't lifted it back up yet to check but from what I can remember it wasn't touching anything at all.

Upon install the manifold was touching a mounting tab off the bell housing but I sawed that off and there is now a good 1/4"-1/2" clearance to it.

Plasmite 05-13-2014 12:11 PM

Mitco has the right idea

Mitco39 05-13-2014 12:28 PM

TopGunz,

Has it been colder lately in your parts?

Chuck33079 05-13-2014 12:46 PM

The flex joints flex more after a few heat cycles, don't they? Could something be rubbing now that wasn't at the time of install because of that? It's been a couple of weeks since I've been under a car with one of these.

TopgunZ 05-13-2014 01:11 PM

[QUMitco39;2816903]TopGunz,

Yes it has. We had 6"s of random snow on Sunday.

It definitely got the car hotter than it had ever been while on the dyno. Maybe the heat cycle settled some piping. Ill look it all over this weekend.

I had the same thing that happened. Check on the drivers side by the left wastegate. There is a stud that holds a heat shield on that came in contact with my wastegate clamp. I trimmed it with a Dremel and had no issues since. It was very noticeable on the pedal for some reason.

I think we cut that one too as I remember Chuck (can you confirm?) cutting the one by the turbo and another as I was messing with the turbo coupler.

Thanks guys!

Guys, my car is slammed and the oil pan spacer makes the oil pan pretty much the lowest part of the car. Could I just tap the oil pan for my return? That wouldn't change anything would it?

Yes you can, no issues with that at all.

Joepro 05-26-2014 11:11 PM

just to give you guys an idea of what this kit is capable of, measure a 60-100 mph of 4.2 seconds, that's super car shiz....60-100 Times :: TorqueStats.com

Yes, the calculation method is crude(gs4 and movie maker, calculated to the hundredth), but this kit performs!

Thanks for sharing this. So, there is no 370z in the list but 350z does it in 8.4. That probably means 370z isn't that much better in stock form I think. That's huge improvement with this kit!

The scary part about that time is that the car with this kit still pulls well above it. Once you hit fifth gear the car is still pulling pretty hard. A whole lot of fun but at the same time makes you say, it shouldn't be doing this. Haha. BP+370Z=happiness.

98intrigue 05-27-2014 04:12 PM

^ You made me reminisce on my old Z and I had to dig up the video. It looks like our 60-100 times were very similar.

Curious

whose check engine like came on when installing this kit?
whose is still on?
did you turn it off with tune?
anyone have theirs on and then go off?
if it was on and went off what does that mean?

Cell 06-02-2014 02:48 PM

Mine is on because of the post cat sensors are still enabled.

Mine was on because I haven't had a chance to go back and have him turn them off, however my check engine light turned off Thursday night while driving and has not come back on since. I need to scan it to see if its still shows reading them, if so bring on emissions LOL:tup:

Yea, I have emissions testing coming up this August. I may buy extension bungs and hope the CEL stays off long enough for the test.

jwick 06-02-2014 02:57 PM

I've had two. One for the MAP sensor and one for random misfire. The MAP sensor never came back after I cleared it the first time. The random misfire appears to be solved by having my tuner adjust the sensitivity of P0300.

I posted in our "group section" but did anyone find a tire that has traction in 3rd or 4th yet?

I get traction in 3rd but it's been 80 or higher every day since I installed the kit. Damn you cold weather locations.

Running 275 S-04's

ummm its been 80-90 here LOL

and I'm running 305's......

super corner grip, but as soon as i get on the gas, they spin in 3rd. colder days i spin in 4th as well

jwick 06-02-2014 03:42 PM

My tires are basically brand new too so that might help.

Then I don't know. I couldn't see 20 hp/ft-lbs making the difference

better alignment maybe?

Mitco39 06-02-2014 05:12 PM

Tire pressure? Mine will stick in 3rd and sometimes in 2nd. I do have the racelogic which helps but when its hot out I dont hear it kick in very much.

I am going to do this very soon, I will be the first to admit I need to put in my toe bolts and get it as close to zero as i can.

Hotrodz 06-02-2014 07:33 PM

I also have S04s 265ft/305r and I just had spl front camber arms installed (also have spc rear toe bolts and camber bars), got an alignment and what a flippin difference. You may still spin, but because of better tire contact you will definitely realize a difference in acceleration and handling. The more tire on the ground the better the straight line traction!

09nismo498 06-02-2014 10:13 PM

i have 305 toyo r888's, fine tuned the alignment at work, no problems in 3rd, minimal spin in second. they are STICKY

If anyone needs a BP v1 kit I may have one for sale soon, there are some personal things happening in my life that will require the car to go, I am going to try to sell the car modded first if that does not workout, I will take the kit off, watch the FS forums in the next 2 or 3 weeks. :(.
