Hmm I musta missed something. As mine won't fire. I'll take the intake mani off again and see what I can see

m3chhawk 04-08-2014 01:09 PM

There are a lot of plugs. Make sure they are all properly seated. With no fire at all, I would lean towards the plug for the fuel rail.

blackonorange 04-08-2014 01:33 PM

Hmm possibly it's not seated, but it looks like it is.

Mitco39 04-08-2014 02:06 PM

I believe when I did my injectors I forgot to plug in one of my throttle body plugs. If you messed something up just check the codes with uprev, it will tell you exactly where to look.

blackonorange 04-08-2014 03:00 PM

Lol it was my injectors... Fuel everywhere... They weren't seated enough in the intake.... Oh bother...

Mitco39 04-08-2014 03:22 PM

Make sure you clean it up good, Id hate to see you blow it apart or catch the car on fire when you go to start it up.

Even though your close dont cut corners, I know its hard and exciting. haha. You getting tuned in Edmonton this spring perhaps?

blackonorange 04-08-2014 03:33 PM

lol yea I cleaned it up it wasn't that bad actually. I'm not sure if I am. I don't think I'll be able to get the days off

wow, be careful. did you use some lubricant on the injector o-rings before installing the rail?

TopgunZ 04-08-2014 03:40 PM

When I did my 350z I had Cosworth rails with ID1000's and they didn't seat at all. I had pools of fuel. Nobody told me I needed clips.

That's why I had to double check on this build as you don't use the clips with the stock rails. Live n learn. :ugh2:

Yea but I wasn't sure how hard I had to push them in as my 600dw slid right in. After it didn't start the first couple times I checked under my manifold and I could see a bit of wetness near the back injector. All is good now. Lol it sounds crazy with the amuse exhaust. Just waiting on the base tune.

Diabel 04-09-2014 01:45 PM

Guys with BP kit mounted - do any of you have the HKS EVC 6 boost controller and could confirm that this is the proper mounting diagram:

http://www.laptopy-asus.pl/nissan/hks6.jpg

I have some problems with raising the boost - I can't make the HKS to make more boost than westgate spring. Maybe someone had similiar issues with that HKS?

JMac88 04-09-2014 06:41 PM

The common mistake with the hks is the initial programming. I would reset and start fresh. The first boost pressure it's asking for is when you want the hks to engage, not where you want target boost. I set mine at 7 psi. Then you set your target boost. Check your settings and report back. Chance are if it was not plumed properly you would be seeing crazy boost amounts

elperuano 04-09-2014 07:23 PM

HKS is such a pita!

I love the GFB gforce 2 so far, really simple, cost effective and stupid simple. Doing a final check on the setup tonight, its running fine, but I am always paranoid something is wrong(story of my life) off to see tune master Vince tomorrow!

You should pay Vince an hour of labor to have his mechanic look everything over.

blackonorange 04-10-2014 11:53 AM

You guys put the yellow springs in? Why did I put the black ones in... I swear the black ones were the 7 psi ones

Boosted Performance 04-10-2014 12:12 PM

You will be fine with the black springs.

blackonorange 04-10-2014 12:15 PM

Ok cool! Just uploading the base tune!!!

Joepro 04-10-2014 02:09 PM

I went over the exhaust and all the clamps everything is tight and looks good! I cannot wait, drooling to see a dyno graph!

blackonorange 04-10-2014 02:15 PM

Man... I just threw my powerhouse amuse kit on. There is a whole lot of awesomeness in my garage right now...

When is your tune date? I think there is another awesome twin scroll kit being tuned today at R/T... 350z though.

jwick 04-10-2014 02:48 PM

Surgery starts in t-minus five hours.

:happydance:

We should be a good ways through it come Sunday.

It's great boost controller for the price it can't be beat . It out performs better than a lot of higher priced ones.

m3chhawk 04-10-2014 05:15 PM

Mine is Monday :D

jlo370z 04-10-2014 05:19 PM

14 days and counting till my tune. clutch will be completely broke in, boost controller will be installed.

cant wait to unleash the beast fully!!!!

VSS370z 04-10-2014 05:24 PM

I got F.I. TT kit but i can't deny that Sasha's turbo kit is pretty awesome too. Good luck guys with the builds, can't wait to see the results.

LMBmikeZ 04-10-2014 05:44 PM

 IMO - BP and FI offer the only kits worth putting on a Z34

Me too! Im installing some gauges in my factory gauge spots on the dash. I hope it turns out well lol. I also have to fab a piece of exhaust pipe, and modify my rear bumper so a single exhaust doesnt look retarded. There is a lot that can go wrong with those two lol, and I have to have it done by the 18th. Hopefully all goes well. I cant wait for my tune!!

m3chhawk 04-10-2014 11:38 PM

Speaking of tunes... is anyone tuned on 91?

jwick 04-11-2014 01:31 AM

So we started work this evening. Before we got too far into tear down I wanted to make sure that the couple of areas of concern wouldn't be show stoppers, this being the first BP kit on a G37 and all. Mainly I wanted to test fit the FMIC, check the turbo charge pipe to the FMIC and test fit the bumper with the FMIC in place.

A few things are slightly different but nothing major. Tomorrow will be a full day of tear down and kit install. Wish us luck!

Good luck! I'm hhoping you can get it done with minimal work! I'm a g37 wanting to go same route.

Anybody else's pre-drilled mounts not line up right? Its not that big of an issue except for the life of me I can not get a drill bit to bite on this and drill the holes out where they should have been. I even used my smallest bit. I don't have a press but I cant believe it wont just drill into the aluminum.

In the pic the passenger side holes are set in way further than the drivers. I had to hold it up to the drivers side while my girlfriend marked where the holes need to be on the other mount. Another setback.

I had the same issue. I'll let Sasha speak to it, but it appears to be a QA issue coming from Treadstone. They appear to have two different mounting tab widths. Looks like you got the smaller ones like I did. I used two sets of vise grips to hold it in place and drilled new holes. It drilled VERY easy and only took a few minutes. Check your drill bits..

Mitco39 04-11-2014 10:19 AM

A center punch will also help the drill bits bite into the material without moving around on you.

TopgunZ 04-11-2014 10:49 AM

Yeah I punched it. However, I just learned it is stainless steel and that is why my crappy drill bits wont bite. Need to go get a carbide bit to chew into it.

Looks like it is Treadstones fault. The tabs off the intercooler are just too short.

jwick 04-11-2014 10:59 AM

I drilled mine out to 3/8" as per the instructions and it bolted right up.

Joepro 04-11-2014 01:40 PM

Dyno results within the hour! Its good :-)
