I test fitted the WGs and coulldn't get them seated enough to get the clamp on. I'm pretty sure I can at install with a pair of channel-locks but I didn't want to do that for test fitting.

It was somewhat difficult for me lol. I was working on jackstands and was on a creeper. So every time I pushed down on the wastegate, I would roll away lol. I ended up on my back with my legs wrapped around something. I had to squeeze the clamp together with channel locks to get it closed enough to get the bolt through. Then I used a dead blow hammer to tap the wastegate to get it clocked for the recirc tube.

A friend to help is priceless lol.

Thankfully I got one of those, several willing to assist actually, but the major wingman has a lift!

blackonorange 04-01-2014 12:51 PM

Is it just me or was it tough to position the fuel rail back in place. Those pigtail extensions don't make it easy.

Haven't tackled that yet. I've messed with one but it was on a Z running CJM return system.

Tear down starts next Thursday!

zguynate 04-01-2014 01:03 PM

I dont recall having any issues with the fuel rail. I found everything about the intercooler pipe that connects to the turbo difficult. I almost dynamited my car for that lol.

I managed to eff that up three times. Got everything back together and fuel would spray everywhere.

There is a little bit of play vertically. Error on the side of injector towards plenum ( as opposed to rail ) and you will be fine. But yes the pigtails make things a bit difficult.

blackonorange 04-01-2014 06:53 PM

Yeesh I don't like how the spacer makes my oil pan sit so low. I didn't think it'd be that bad...

From the top with intake still off. Impact socket, extensions, and a 30" breaker bar. Bolts snap nice and easy.

Mine were tough to fit also. I need to have a look again before I put the car back on the road. I have a very small leak on the output of one of the waste gates.

Maybe you'll get lucky like I did on my HFC install and they just break off.

blackonorange 04-02-2014 06:05 PM

Could you get all 3 from the engine bay?

Been over three years but I believe one of them is from underneath. I think that's the one that stays in place and you reuse the factory nut for the install.

Don't quote me on that cause I've consumed a lot of alcohol between then and now.

Joepro 04-02-2014 06:12 PM

Broke my pressure plate on monday night...ugh. Did get the boost controller in tho!

I believe that is correct (but claiming a similar disclaimer as above)

Mr.Squeeze 04-02-2014 11:45 PM

Sorry to here about the pressure plate good choice on the boost controller though.

black for no boost controller and yellow for boost controller.

I put the black in mine till i go for my tune, then ill have him swap it to the yellow

m3chhawk 04-03-2014 08:13 PM

Go yellow. Once you go black you don't go back.

Sweet! That's what I went with. I am using a Hallman pro mbc.

Joepro 04-03-2014 09:42 PM

Beforemy clutch broke I upped the boost to 8 lbs on the controller and it bumped the AFR to 10.8 at wot, so the black spring should be fine on the base map.

TopgunZ 04-03-2014 11:23 PM

Ill be getting a different base map since I'll be running E. I decided to go with the highest single spring since I need a couple more psi up here.

Ah man..I wish! :yum:

I dont even have my kit yet. I was lucky enough to be in the 2.5 round so my kit just shipped Monday. I have some parts that were sourced from inside the states and my fuel system from my 350. So I printed off the manual and did EVERYTHING else besides install the piping
and a few other things ill need out of the kit itself. But I may set a record for fastest install ever after it shows up!! ..lol.

blackonorange 04-04-2014 11:34 AM

How do we get the base map? Contact Sasha I assume?

zguynate 04-04-2014 12:15 PM

Just for clarification, the yellow spring is a narrow small spring correct? Because mine was.

Correct. I do need the ECU part number, it can be retrieved through Osiris.

zguynate 04-04-2014 12:31 PM

Thanks Sasha. Just making sure there wasnt some form of wizardry that I overlooked. Thats the last thing I want is for the car to blow up on the dyno because I have the wrong spring in there.

blackonorange 04-05-2014 10:53 AM

Guys.... Is it even possible to align the turbo and hook it up to the charge pipe?!? I have no idea how you guys did this
