I had the same issue when I did my exhaust. I hammered the too small one on, and that was good for a few turns before it stripped out. Luckly it was loose enough to fit a saw between the flanges and cut the bolt.

Congrats man, so jealous...

Nice mine started yesterday too. I got everything off, plus pulled the tranny. today the trans will go back in then kit install begins. my exhaust came off easy because it was only on for 2000 miles ;)

COSMO 03-27-2014 03:10 PM

Why did you have to pull the tranny?

It's going to be a bit before I finish. I'm workin 2 jobs at about 70 hours a week. Needless to say I don't have much free time. And most of that free time is spent with the wife. Happy wife happy life lol. I'm really in no rush though. As long as its done by ZdayZ!

axmea? 03-27-2014 06:40 PM

Boosted P. Can you PM me a price shipped to 91381 please. Also, it is a daily driver on L.A. freeways. There will be the occasional 5 - 15 mile drive on 1st gear traffic. What else should I consider?

The kit is complete other than a clutch, and any gauges that you want to use.

So I went through everything in the box this evening in preparation for tear down. I do have a few questions for those that have tackled this already:

1. How much of the vacuum hose is left over after you have plumbed the WGs/BOV? I need to run an equal amount from the charge pipe to the WG for my EBC and just wondering if I should plan to buy all the additional or if there will be some left over. Any place to order it from specifically or just pick up vacuum hose from AutoZOne?
2. Are these (picture below) intended for something specific or just thrown in in case you need them. I did not see them in the manual but I could have missed them.

I had those too but forgot what I used them on.

I usually put plenty of hose to cover the wastegates and BOV. I don't know if there is enough left over to rune the EBC.

Those pieces in the picture are for the transmission harness slight relocation on the bell housing, passenger side. The harness needs to be secured a bit higher than OEM location due to the exhaust pipes.

Two are needed, one is extra.

There is not enough hoses for the EBC as far as I remember. I had to buy more.

I have been adding more hose with the kit, so it may just be enough...depending on the EBC selonoid location.

I'm going to run the charge pipe fitting hose straight to the compartment with the Brake/Clutch Master Cylinder. Tee it, one running to WGs lower, the other to EBC and then to WGs upper.

If I need more hose should I just buy the silicone hose Treadstone has on their website? I want 6.3mm, right?

The nipples on the wastegates and BOV are all 1/4" (6mm), so yes, that hose will be just fine, assuming the that the EBC takes the same size hose. Sometimes they use 4mm hoses on the EBC's...might want to check that out before purchasing more.

For the wastegates and BOV (without EBC) you will need about 12' of hose.

BTW the picture I posted is in the manual :)

Yeah that picture look familiar once I saw it but I didn't notice the clamp on the bell housing. To the selonoid and then WGs all use 6mm hose for the Profec. The portion that runs into the cabin is 4mm though.

Hey guys and gals has anyone done the switch from the gtm tt kit to this kit yet? And if so do you enjoy this kit more?

TopgunZ 03-31-2014 09:44 AM

My complete kit will be here before the weekend!! I honestly think I can get it on in just one weekend by myself. Knowing what needed to be done before hand and having the injectors and pump already helped as I already have the fuel buttoned up and the cats off.

Sasha, Since I am on 1000cc's and E85 do you think that the base map tuned for 750cc's will run pretty good? The way I see it, my injectors will dump about 25% more than pump gas and I'm at elevation so that would put me in the target range.

Or is my math way off?..lol.

I don't think so but Mr.Squeeze is going that way unless he changes his plans. Of course he's opting for the bigboy turbo to see what his built block can handle.

jwick 03-31-2014 09:56 AM

Sasha - How long do you need to get the base map to me? We'll be starting the build next week and just want to make sure I've got it on hand. What do you need from me, is a screen shot of Cipher where it shows my ECU number good enough?

Not at this time, but it is in the works.

I will get the map adjusted for your needs/fuel setup.

Either a screen shot or the number...whatever works for you. It shouldn't take more than a couple of days to get the map to you once I have the ECU part number.

zguynate 03-31-2014 02:20 PM

I just wrapped up my install last night! Started up the first try with no hiccups, well not yet at least lol. I'm waiting on my exhaust that gets here Wednesday before I can drive it. Then a couple of weeks before I can get my tune.

TopgunZ 03-31-2014 05:01 PM

You don't need an exhaust. That just adds back pressure!!...lol.. That monster must have been loud as hell in your garage upon fire up.

Congrats!

:rofl2:

If my wife comes in the shop/garage and start to "bother me" I just start to spray brake cleaner all over the place. She leaves immediately. It works every time...sounds like you found a way to get yours out in a hurry as well.

TopgunZ 03-31-2014 05:26 PM

:icon18:

Ive found PB blaster to be most effective on Brunets. Perhaps brake cleaner works best for Blondes?

One time when I had fuel issues I had my girlfriend turn the car over for me without the intake plenum on. Needless to say.. she said that's the last time she will ever help me..Lol. I do miss those small wrists to get into places though.

She is a redhead...so you have to kick it up a couple of notches.

TopgunZ 04-01-2014 09:49 AM

Sasha,

Do we re-use the clips on the new injectors? I didn't think we did but the instructions are a bit unclear.

jwick 04-01-2014 09:52 AM

Since we are in question mode. I received two T4 gaskets and two downpipe/mid-pipe gaskets. I can only see need for one of each. Are the others extras or in case you need additional spacer?

There is no need for the clips. The injector has nowhere to go, as it is clamped between the manifold and the fuel rail.

I must have sent an extra set by mistake. Call it a freebie.

Freebies for everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

blackonorange 04-01-2014 11:45 AM

I started my install last night... Did my spark plugs and injectors. Then I looked at the demon bolts for a while... Not looking forward to that

Odd...I really have to get Hooked on Phonics... as I clearly can't count.

The good thing is that I am not sending the kits out with missing parts.... :).

From the top with intake still off. Impact socket, extensions, and a 30" breaker bar. Bolts snap nice and easy.

You're not making mistakes packing orders, you're including spares. ;)

zguynate 04-01-2014 11:59 AM

My demon bolts were surprisingly easy to get off. No issues. I had more trouble getting the wastegates clamped on because you have to compress the valve seat before the clamp will go on lol.

zguynate 04-01-2014 12:02 PM

Speaking of extras, I didnt need my fuel pump wiring since I already had the CJM RRP. Anyone who didnt get it with the first round of kits want it? Free + shipping.
