Pulled her out of storage and delivered her to the doctors office. Tear down starts Thursday .

Are you not performing the install yourself?

Its no wonder all the smart people go with Boosted Performance kits :rofl2:

Took the Z out of storage. Took her for a spin. Still way to cold, but got me very excited and motivated to make this build happen. Trying to figure out what I have to sell to make it happen quick...

Joepro 03-23-2014 04:51 PM

After I dyno on april 11th and I prove if the headers are useless for boost or not, you can sell those, I will if they bust!

I don't see how they could hurt... The collectors are beautiful! Made a hefty improvement N/A, so that should equate to a huge difference under boost right?

Even if it's not huge, it has to be better than stock

You want to use the IM source as it'll tell you the actual pressure at the motor, not what the turbo is seeing. There will be some loses along the way, mostly from FMIC. The WGs lines from the IM have to remain connected because that is what is supplying the pressure to open the WG. The pressure source line from the EBC is going to connect to the top of the WG (the banjo bolts Sasha tells you to leave open to atmosphere in the instructions if you are not running boost control pg 72) adding additional pressure on top of the WG Spring to prevent it from opening until desired boost level.

I'm going to tap an extra barb into the IM to feed EBC Valve so I don't have to tee off the charge pipe hose. I'll likely add a second additional barb to the IM to run the feed hose into the cab for the pressure to the EBC control module. Also the one I bought only has two hoses at the actual valve. I'll not be teeing the BOV line. The EBC valve for mine just accepts one pressure source and the other end ties into the top of the WG (that line will have to be teed to tie into both WGs). I assume the differences are the type of EBC.

Boosted Performance 03-23-2014 10:03 PM

The EBC does not need a source from the IM, as it does not need vacuum at all. The entire wastegate/EBC system is based on pressure, so the charge pipes in the engine bay can be used for this.

Since the kit already comes with a couple of drill bits and a tap, it is easy to add another pressure source to either one of the engine bay charge pipes. I am sending an extra 1/8" by 1/4" barb now with every kit for this purpose. So if the customer ends up using a boost controller, they can just add the extra port.

jwick 03-23-2014 10:56 PM

Would you recommend we not use the IM as the pressure source? Is seeing vacuum an issue for the EBC?

I don't think it is an issue...the valve (solenoid) is closed while the engine/IM is in vacuum.

Weird. I thought they had proven results?

I guess we will see how they work with boost, I'll be pissed if I have to take the headers off again!

Since I am really considering switching to this kit from my GTM kit. I have done some trolling on the 6766 turbo I would get with this kit. This dyno is from a 3.0 Supra. I feel that if this is ran on a built motor 370z 700whp pump gas wouldn't be a problem at all.

squeeze you still running that Mish rad? Hows it working for you? Im not forking out the cash for a GTM ill get next leap year and csf just does not seem worth the cost since it is not oversized.

boost controller will be here tomorrow! Gonna be hard to leave the gain alone till my tune on april 11th...

700WHP on pump gas and BP twin scroll 6766 T4 1.32 a/r has already been done :). This is a customer with a 350Z.

So you are right, with good/proper supporting mods this is realistic.

Precision is also working on a new 6870 turbo. So, 68mm compressor but more importantly a 70mm turbine wheel. The turbo is rated at 1050HP, and I am going to do my absolute best to make this turbo work with the twin scroll kit. By the way, that HP rating translates to 105lbs/min of air coming out of that compressor.

The turbo however is not due out on the market till late this year...but it gives us something to look forward to. It also won't be available with a twin scroll turbine, but that should not be a big deal. It will still perform extremely well.

All the Precision turbos that come with this kit are billet wheel as well, so just like the new Garrett GTX line of turbos. These don't even start to shine till you get past 20psi of boost, so all the customers out there with these 6266's and 6766's even at 550-600whp are still a long way from really waking these turbos up.

Yes I am still running the Mishimoto radiator it's bigger than the CSF I have had both. It does a better job as well of cooling to you should get it.

I'm a little lost.... how do we bypass the HP limit with VVEL? Eliminate it with an HR swap??

Well Sasha with your next batch I want a 6766 I am going to aim high I have been tired of my current power level .

That new turbo sound's like a monster to.

Not sure what you mean by VVEL hp limit the highest I have seen on one of these engines is 850whp it was a GTM car.

Plus, it is coming from a 3.0 supra engine.

That comes with the territory I built my motor with a goal of 800 whp and haven't even come close due to my kit.

This is a 3.0 liter engine with 9:5 compression and still makes 800whp and 800 tq at 5500 rpm's. On a 3.7 it would spool quicker I know I sure don't mind giving up some spool for higher rpm power on pump gas. Where talking 700whp easy pump gas no E85 no meth good old 93 pump gas.

Joepro 03-24-2014 05:53 PM

I was just going to say thats a 3.0 as well, I think the vq would spool up faster...still that's a lot of power!

Nissan370 03-24-2014 06:21 PM

Dam squeeze. Your tired of 640+ rwhp thats crazy I cant imagine to many cars on the road that can even come close to walking with you must be nice .

TopgunZ 03-24-2014 06:29 PM

My buddy has a built engine for a G35 that can easily hold 1000+ laying in his garage. Sleeved, Twin pump and the whole nine. He is getting a kit from Sasha and putting the PT7675 (I think) on it.

His goal is what ever that hog will make.

Should be interesting.

There aren't many cars that I run into on when i have my car out spring/summer but the crowd I hang around with is no joke there. To give you an idea there is an event that I am going to next week at Pocono Raceway and this is the list of some of the cars. There are some faster ones that are not on this list that will be there that are not listed.

Those are some great numbers but to me that's too much usable power. I would be afraid of taking a sharp turn and not being able to handle it when the rear breaks free. Again to maintain such power takes a lot of time and money.
