Maybe, but you need to go bigger on the fuel system for ethanol. It's a trade off. E85 is good stuff if it's readily available around you. He was asking about E10, and that's hard to avoid.

Ethanol has a much lower energy content than gasoline (~115k BTU/lb for gasoline vs ~70k BTU/lb for ethanol). So ethanol will always hurt your fuel economy.
That being said, you can make more power on ethanol (~105-110 octane), but you need to at least tune for it and ideally build (higher compression) for it and you will likely flow 30% more fuel to make equal power. |

Ethanol is a great big ripoff for consumers. It's government subsidized despite it being an inferior and less efficient fuel. It does have a higher effective octane, but when you go to the pump and buy gas cut with 10% ethanol, like in CA, you are basically buying watered down gas, which will impact your mileage.

Good point. No wonder during the 6 years of ownership with the 350Z at some point the car stopped feeling as peppy and a full tank didn't last as long. Around that time not all pumps were required to put the 10% ethanol notice. It's everywhere, and it's not really saving us much money. [END RANT]

Just wait until the day you fill up on Friday afternoon and then on Saturday, then see what your MPG is. I think I got it down to 9MPG.
